Carrying the true mark of God
Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
The mark of God is God's sign off identification or ownership, it is a universal code for all membership in the body and family of God. It guarantees your eternal safety and certifies that your relationship with God is real.
In the garden of Eden, after the creation, man wholly belong to God, but when sin sets in, satan took over the ownership of man life, robbing off all the goodness of God in man's life.
God in His infinite mercy provided a means by which man can be reunited with Him again and become joint heirs of His kingdom. This He does from generation to generations.
The children of Israel were identified with God for the relentless and committed faith of their forefathers Abraham, who gave up all to follow an unseen God. Despite being stiff-necked, God never forsake them in time of trouble because of His mark upon them.
It was a time for God to destroy the firstborn in land of Egypt due to the hardened heart of pharaoh who wouldn't let the children of Israel go out of the land to the Promised Land God had given to their fathers.
For God to preserve His own people from the Impending doom of the plague, He asked them to slaughter a lamb and use its blood to mark the entrance of their house. This mark is an example of divine identification of being in the family of God.
Exodus12:23 For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.
Today, the communicative means He uses to bring people back into His family is through Jesus Christ, that if we can confess our sins and forsake them, we will have sense of belonging in the kingdom of the Father, now and in eternity. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
As we have been included in Christ when we heard the message of truth, the gospel of salvation. When we believed, we were identified in him with a mark, the promised Holy spirit who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession
John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
The works of the mark of God in a believer's life.
There are things the mark of God provides to every believer,
1. Inclusion – as long as we have been identified with Christ, we have been included in Him, and we share the same nature... Everything about Christ actively takes effect in our life, this includes his righteousness, his power, grace, his love, compassion and provisions.
Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
2. Identity – Because you have been marked by God, your identity is found in Christ. This means when God sees you, he identifies you as one of his very own, because you have been sealed. It also means that Satan recognizes you as belonging to God as well.
John 10:14-15I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.
3. Become witness to Him. – the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ to this world is to save the lost and redeem them back to the family of God through His eternal love. This same commission he gave to everyone who belongs to the family... just as we have first been saved. And the signs of His power shall be made manifest in healings and deliverance, in speaking of new languages for the purpose of evangelism among others.
There are many who profess to be of God but does not have the truth of God in them, the true mark of God is the Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit in the life of every believer.
We continually become identified with God if we continually follow the teachings and patterns of Christ Jesus. John 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
This mark of God guarantees life long support in the service He has committed into our hands.
Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.
You cannot survive in this perverse and horrible world and gain eternal life without having the mark of God in you.
Do you have the true mark of God on you today? If you are not sure or do not have this mark on you, make the resolution today and come to Jesus Christ who will give you an identification before the father.. He has paid the price, all you need to do is to confess all your sins and declare Him as your lord and saviour.
