Stay away from Impurity

Matthew  5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Impurities are substances which make something less pure or totally impure. Impurities are sins that makes impure our divine nature in God.  For He is holy, righteous and true and anyone who will serve Him must be of the same nature.

Romans  6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.  6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.  6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Apostle Paul encourages the Roman believers the need to dedicate their bodies to the Lord as they have been born again in Christ Jesus. The desire to fulfil the lust of the flesh should not be given occasion to control their spirit mind.

1 Corinthians  6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
Sin does not reign in the person who has dedicated himself to the live the life of righteousness and holiness of God. So the need to flee from all appearance of sin that can make our purity impure before God.

Some impurity God wants us to stay away from are as follows.

1. Fornication.
1 Thessalonians  4:3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
This is a generic word that refers to all sexual sins such as adultery, homosexuality and lesbianism. This can destroy the body and makes the spirit unclean before God because God detest them.

2. Uncleanness or covetousness.
Ephesians  5:3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
Apostle Paul here links uncleanness or impurity with covetousness(greed). The soul that is covetous after the things of the world has an unclean nature. Any unnatural fulfillment of the lust of the flesh is considered uncleanness and greed.

3. Foolish talking.
Ephesians  5:4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

This includes silly, frivolous or senseless talk. Those who have their mouths running without engaging their minds usually bring all sorts of grief upon themselves by speaking things which they ought not not to say.

Whether communicating in the context of the assembly of the children of God or in personal encounters with other brethren, believers should not be involved in foolish and uncontrolled speaking or coarse joking such as  jokes and sacrilegious speech that is contrary to the spiritual nature of believers in Christ.

We can stay away from impurity through the following means.

1. To walk in love as Christ does.

Ephesians  5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

In other to imitate God, one must look unto Christ, it is in  the  nature of the children to follow the examples of their father, as children of God, therefore, believers must seek to follow the nature of their father, God, by walking in love, and not have hatred, deceit, hypocrisy, anger or resentment buried inside our heart. As by this, our life becomes an offering and a sacrifice giving God a sweet-smelling savour.

2. Sanctification.
John  17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Sanctification here means to be separated for the ways of the world. Being obedient to the truth of God will separate one from the world.  The truth of the word of God will always keep us in-check and make us live according the pattern of the kingdom of the living God.

Impurity will break your communication with God, it will corrupt your spirit mind and stop you from reigning with Christ on the Last day. So stay away from it.

God bless you.
