The devil's Workshop
2 Thessalonians 3:11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
The God we serve is a hardworking God, as much as He is God He still make effort to put things in place for man. During the creation we Understand He worked for six days and rested on the seventh day.
Even after the fall of man, He sent His son who worked out our salvation through His teaching, death and resurrection on the third day.
In like manner God wants everyone to be productive and be engaged in a truthful and faithful work, being idle from doing what is right will eventually makes one become a tool for evil deeds.
The devil never leaves a life empty, he sorts for opportunity to occupy lives which are not productive to God or idle to themselves, he takes over thier lives and perpetrate his evil.
The product of idleness are seen in our society today when many becomes hoodlums, bandits, terrorist and other criminal elements terrorising the peace of others.
So also in our spiritual ways of life, many who ought to become busy with God's work are idle and has become a tool in the hand of the devil.
Consider the life of King David.
2 Samuel 11:1 And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem. 11:2 And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king's house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.
King david was a man of battle who fights different war and prevail, but at a time he suppose to be at the war front, he tarried at Jerusalem while other soldiers kept on fighting.
The devil took no delay in seizing the opportunity to perpetrate his evil through the idleness of King David. He brought him to a place his eyes will commit sin, he observed Bathsheba and fell lustfully with her. This very act of sin leads to rape, infidelity and murder.
Colossians 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
More so as we have been saved into the family of Christ and expectant of His second coming, we are not to sit as busybodies doing nothing while waiting, we must get down to the business of the kingdom, preaching and wining souls for Christ instead of becoming a tool the devil will use to populate hell.
If truly we have been saved to life in Christ from death and sin, then our affections must be above and not of things of this world, we must be busy with heavenly priorities, realising what He wants us to do and doing them accordingly.
Proverbs 10:4 He who has a slack hand becomes poor, But the hand of the diligent makes rich.
Our productivity in Christ will makes us rich in this world and in the kingdom of the Father to come. Just as the hand of he who works becomes full during harvest, so also the hands of those who get down into the business of God will be full of spiritual blessings.
If you fail to serve or work for God, the devil will employ you into his workshop, use you for his own gain without a pay until you become useless for yourself and God.
Don't be idle, both in physical works and spiritual works..
Get down to work.
God bless you
