Pulling down Strongholds
2 Corinthians 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
In the world we live in, we live in a physical body, however, this does not mean that our desires are directed towards satisfying the lust of the flesh. Our warfare is spiritual, and thus, we fight a spiritual war with Satan, though we live in the flesh.
As long as we are identified with Christ and has been redeemed with the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, that instant Satan begins to wage war against us, this He does in the spirit which becomes manifest in the physical.
In other to win this spiritual war and pull down the strongholds of darkness, then we must acquire the spiritual weapons from the arsenal of God
Many believers are ignorant of their spiritual potentials in God, thereby make themselves lose battles to the devil, but to pull down the stronghold of darkness, a believer must first recognise him/herself in God.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
We must always know that we can do nothing except with God through Christ who became our source of strength and power. Many believers fall cheaply to the temptations of the devil today because they believe they are self-sufficient and are confident in their natural understanding.
Our strength comes from God, Christ had first defeated Satan, ours is to enforce His victory everyday and at every given time. Anyone who failed to recognise God as the source of strength will fall to the devil again and again.
John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
As much as we identify Christ as the source of our strength, we must continually abide in Him, this is seen in our total obedience to His daily instructions. This will make us spiritually conscious of the devices of the devil, His spirit in us will keep us informed daily and give us the understanding of what to do at every given time.
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
The best and the surest way to pull down the strongholds of darkness is to put on the whole armour of God, the whole armour of God is our weaponry to win the battles of life and spirit which the devil brings against us.
Ephesians 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Faith is one of the weapon satan fear the most, faith establish your confidence in God, it gives you the boldness to confront Satan. Instead of fear, fill your heart with faith and Satan will fear you.
6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Christ is the Head of the church, your salvation in Christ becomes your safety helmet, when your salvation in Christ is gone, your whole body becomes dead.
The word of God is the sword of the spirit through which you fight spiritual battle, Satan do not fear prayer. Prayer is the channel through which you connect to the spirit realm, it brings you to the battle field in the spirit, but your knowledge of the word is the weapon you fight with in the spirit. The words is the sword you can use to defeat Satan.
6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Being in the spirit always through prayer and watching makes you conscious of the the tricks of the devil. You must stay on guard at all time so as to keep defeating the devil whenever he arises against you.
Bringing down the strongholds of darkness is not just being called a believer or Christian, it requires rigorous spiritual military training in word, fasting and prayer.
Stay on guard and become victorious
God bless you.
