Bitter Experience

Day 1 : Hell is better imagined than experienced

Matthew  7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

There are many bitter experiences we come across everyday in our lives, this was the result of the fall of man from the grace of God into sin and death.

The life in the garden of Eden was full of peace, joy, happiness and glory of God, there was never pain, or sorrow, everything man needs is at his disposal, but satan came and deceived man in a bid to robb man off the peace and glory of God he enjoys.

Ever since, man has began to have bitter experiences, starting from the pain of tilling the ground before it brings out food, the Labour in child birth, animals becoming wild against man, the first murder and many other wicked activities, many of which we experience today.

But as God will have it, Christ was sent to give us everlasting peace which will overrule the bitter experiences we have in this present world. This peace He gives, not as the world gives, the only peace of God which guides our way of life, but this is only available for whoever can surrender their life to Him in humility of heart.

Nevertheless, the bitter experience many experience today can never be compared to the real bitter experience to come after death if anyone refuse to accept the salvation of God which was brought by our Lord Jesus Christ.

The bitter experience is the life in Hell after death.

Hell was not originally made for man by God, it was made for satan and the angels who fell with Him. Matthew  25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels

The occupants of Hell was later extended to any human who submit himself to the devil and his works, they shall all have their place in hell and the lake of fire

The Bible describes hell as a place of outer darkness, a lake of fire, a place of weeping and gnashing of teeth, a place of eternal separation from the blessings of God, a prison, a place of torment where the worms doesn't turn or die.

Hell, then, is an eternal home for the  unrighteous, ever-burning wrath of God, a suffering torment from which there is no escape and no relief. Understanding this is crucial to our drive to appreciate the work of salvation in Christ.

Consider the parable of Christ in one of His teaching.

Luke  16:19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:  16:20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

This was the story of a rich man and a man named Lazarus, it pictured how Hell could be. Both had their lot in this world and after death they were judged according to the intent of thier heart..

The experience

Luke  16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.  16:24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

How can one imagine the intensity of heat in hell that could make a drop of water from the tip of a finger quench a great thirst, this is an unimaginable experience.. Yet this is the place prepared for Satan and anyone who refuses to accept Christ as their Lord and personal saviour.

Matthew  7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Many will claim to have worked for God on earth on that day, but they themselves will be rejected and cast to Hell...

It is better to imagine it, than to experience it.

The pain in this present world is just a foreshadow of the bitter experience to come after death if you fail to accept Christ as your lord and personal saviour.

You can change location in this world, you can fight for survival in this world, but once you die and find yourself in hell, there is no going back, it is an eternity of sorrow, pain, bitterness, gnashing of teeth and doom.

Don't get there before you know it is true. No one ever gets there and come back to life.

Hell is better imagined than experienced.

God bless you.
