Appreciation and Thanksgiving

1 Thessalonians  5:16 Rejoice evermore.  5:17 Pray without ceasing.  5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Appreciation is a feeling of being grateful for something, while Thanksgiving  is the expression of gratitude or showing  appreciation or to  acknowledge and express obligation of thanks  for what has been done or what is about to be done Giving thanks is one of the greatest obligation God demands from us as humans, referencing His greatness over us. He demands our heart of gratitude, it is His will for us through all our living. This act of gratitude and appreciation is not just limited to the good times of life, neither is it limited to when He provide what we request for or answer our prayers... He demands our heart of appreciation even in the most difficult times of all.. In all situation, God demands our heart of thanksgiving Showing appreciation for what God has done in the past or doing or what He will still do is one o

Where are you?

Genesis  3:9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? Because of guilt  Adam and Eve hid themselves from a visual presentation of God. God called to Adam, not because He did not know where Adam was, but to bring forth a confession of what he had done. Adam's fear when God approached manifested that separation had now come between God and man as a result of sin.  Adam and Eve were separated from God because of sin, though they were still in the garden, a place of God's grace and full of God's provisions, yet they were out of God's divine purpose and Will.  God called out, where art thou?  You may be in the sanctuary of God but not in God,  You may be called with the name of God but long gone away from  God.  Judas was with Christ, dined and wined with Him, listened to His  teachings, performed signs and wonders in His name yet he was out of Christ, the devil had already taken Him and   destroyed him eventually.  Where are you?  Are you still

Consequences of Revenge

1 Thessalonians  5:15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. Revenge is the action of hurting or harming someone in return for an injury or wrong suffered at their hands. There is no one ever living that cannot be offended, some may be sever while some may not. Our natural intent as human demands we pay pack those who offended us in their own coin, but as a believer in Christ who has a new nature of God will have no reason to tele revenge. Matthew  5:38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:  5:39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.  5:40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. Jesus's teaching preaches love and not hatred, it preaches tolerance and not impatience. Returning evil for evil births more evil and hatr

Choosing the good Path

Micah  6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? Our God is a supreme being, He created all things and has power over all things, He created man in His own spiritual image to show forth His glory in a new kingdom called earth.  As much as God is a supreme being who has power to enforce everything on man which man has no option that to comply, yet He gave man the ability to choose what He desires and the path to follow. Man was given the freewill to choose what is right or what is wrong,  God is not a wicked being, so with love He always reveals the consequences of whatever choice we make out of two options He gave.  In the garden of Eden after the creation of man, God gave man instructions of what to do and not to do in the garden, He further reveals what would happen for each of man's decision.  Genesis  2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of

God's blessing upon Man

Genesis  1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. After God made mankind, the very first thing He did was to bless man, He pronounced His blessings on man to be fruitful, multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it, even to have dominion over all He had first created. These  blessings of God launched man into a new dimension of authority, grace and divine wealth of God. Be fruitful The first blessing of God on man is for man to be fruitful, being fruitful is producing good results, beneficial and profitable. So God want our life to produce good results in Him both spiritually and physically, then our life must be profitable, giving glory to God always. To be multiply This is the ability for a man to increase in numbers, in wisdom, in Understanding and knowledge and also in

Amending faulty Foundation

Psalms  11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? Every life has a begining, every generation has a starting point, the strength of a house is determined by what foundation is layed. No matter how beautiful the house may be, if the foundation is not well layed, then the house will fall when the storms of life strike on it.  God had first given us a solid and good foundation rooted in His righteousness and holiness in the garden of Eden, but Satan came and destroyed the good foundation God layed for all mankind. Yet, He never allowed the foundation to be destroyed forever, God moved with love and rebuilt the foundation through the sacrificial death of Christ.  Your foundation may be faulty, your life may have a faulty begining which brings about pains, sorrow, delay and setbacks, the foundation of your marriage may be faulty which may bring about hatred, distrust and divorce, but God is able to amend every faulty foundations.  For a faulty foundation to be mended,

Key to Spiritual Buoyancy

2 Peter  3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. When we become converted and redeemed into Christ family, we begin a new journey towards growth in grace and power of God. At first we will be fed with milk due to infancy 1 Corinthians  3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For us to grow in christ and become spiritually buoyant, then we must be able to key into the secrets of God's wisdom.  Keys to spiritual Buoyancy  1. Obedience.  Deuteronomy  13:4 Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. obedience to God means to hear, trust, submit and surrender to God and His word.    Hearing from God: Deuteronomy  28:1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe

Who bears your Witness?

Acts  19:15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? bearing witness is an act of giving evidence to confirm events happened and the things said are true As we have been redeemed from the guilt of sin and death, we have become a new citizen  of a kingdom different from that of this world, a kingdom of righteousness and holiness, we then walk in the newness of the spirit, and  we become identified with Christ As we have been identified with Christ, becoming a witness of God in the world, then God must witness us and the devil must witness us too. We must be identified by God as His true servant and satan must identify us too as a threat to his kingdom. In the life of Job, God bears witness about him as His true servant and can never deny Him for whatever that happens, Job  1:8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, an

Blessed are the Merciful

Matthew  5:7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Being merciful is treating people with kindness and forgiveness : not cruel or harsh : having or showing mercy. : giving relief from suffering Those who recognise thier own spiritual poverty are merciful to others. They sympathize and have pity on others. They seek to relieve the suffering of others because  He has had mercy on them in relation to their sin. Mercy is one of the traits of God, this is by which God did not condemned man to eternal damnation rather He made a way of salvation through His son Jesus Christ to die for our sin, and by this everyone also should show mercy to fellow human. Consider the parable of the Lord Jesus Christ of a king and his servant Matthew  18:23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.  18:24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.  18:25 But forasmuch as he

The Sower and the Reaper

Mathew  9:37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; On several occasions Christ made the parable of sowers and reapers  to give understanding of the kingdom business, either to His disciples or the congregation He is teaching. The two have been used interchangeably and for this teaching Jesus is calling on reapers who will work diligently to reap the harvest of souls that are ripe for God's word  Here, the word of God had been sowed into the lives of many, messages has been preached through many medium, and souls has been touched by the word, now is the time for harvest, those who have been saved need to stand for the salvation of others.  John  4:35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.  4:36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he

Danger of walking by Sight and not by Faith

2 Corinthians  5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) Faith is the Belief in , loyalty to, and complete trust in God, faith is the only currency through which anyone can trade with in the spirit world. Whoever that will walk with God, work for Him and expect blessings from Him must be ready to do so in faith and not by sight, for faith is the key to walk with God in the spirit John  4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. God guides our life through our unwavering faith Walking by faith means living life in light of eternal consequences. To walk by faith is to fear God more than man; to obey the Bible even when it conflicts with man’s commands; to choose righteousness over sin, no matter what the cost; to trust God in every circumstance; and to believe God rewards those who seek Him, regardless of who says otherwise. Nevertheless as believers, we put ourselves in great danger when we only walk by sight instead of walking by faith.

Your time is now

Romans  13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. Time is the measurable period during which an action or a process exist, time is the measure of man's existence on earth and  everything we do on earth is perfectly set in time. God creates time to set in motion everything He created. To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven, nothing exceeds its own time, everything comes into place at its own predestined time The time of planting does not come in the time of harvest, the time to be born comes when it should and when it is time to die, death knocks on the door.. But in all, He hath made every thing beautiful in his time. Out of ignorance many of us missed our time, we lose every blessings that suppose to have come to us if we had used our time judiciously,  a time we should be delivered from one problem or the other, a time we should have been bles

Possessing Christ Inner Beauty

1 Peter  1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. According to dictionary.com , beauty is the quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind, whether arising from sensory manifestations (as shape, color, sound, etc.) In other perspective, Beauty is an experience of the good, which can be associated with God, creation, faith, truth, harmony, or numerous other notions. ... For some thinkers, beauty begins with God. When beauty is ascribed, more attention is given to the physical attraction of a thing, but in the real understanding of what God reveals to us, beauty is in our inner disposition and not our outward appearance. 1 Corinthians  6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? Our body is the temple of the living God, and so as He resides in us, we must be able to illuminate the beauty of God from inside out Even though our body i

Love is an Action

Matthew  5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; Love can be understood as a mix of emotions, behaviors, and beliefs associated with strong feelings of affection, protectiveness, warmth, and respect for another person. Love is widely proclaimed by people from one to another, yet their actions afterwards says otherwise.  Scripturally God himself is love, and by this, he gave his only begotten Son to die for mankind... John  3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. This was the extreme of God's  love for us. And as much as we accept the love given to us, we also much extend its  hand  towards one another.  But sadly, in the world today, love has been misunderstood, the love we claim we exhibit is only a confession of the mouth which harbor deceit in the h

A Test of Commitment

Genesis  22:1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. God most time permits unsuitable or discouraging situations to come our our way, not for the reward of our sins before him but to test our commitment to Him.  This He does to reaffirm our confession of love, faith and total dependant on Him as God.  Abraham was a man of faith who passed God's test of commitment in His walk with Him. God had first told him to depart from His country home, leaving all behind and go to a place he will be showed latter in the journey... He acted accordingly as the Lord directs.  After waiting on God for a child for many years, God granted Him a child at his old age...  Yet God determines to give him the greatest test of commitment so as to approve him to be the father of faith. Genesis  22:1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I

Discover your heavenly father's Assignment

John  9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. We all are created with a purpose and a divine assignment attached to us. At first, man was created to dominate an extension of God's kingdom which will show forth His glory and majesty. Man is to rule over all creatures made on earth.  As man begin to multiply from one generation to another, our purposes becomes simplified according to our generation and the location we find ourselves. Though we may be blind to this purpose as we grow up, but having an intimacy with God will make us see, know and understand His purposes for our life per time and season.  As much as we live to fulfil our personal desires in this world, we must not be too carried away by forgetting the heavenly assignment God has purposed for everyone of us. This heavenly assignment will also guide us through the success we deserve both in this life and the wold to come.  Have you discovered your heavenly fa

Don't be carried away by the raging of the Storm

Exodus  14:13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.  14:14 The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. There are times in our life when the problem that comes our way will look so big and our faith so small, all our expectations seems cut short and the hope of getting help becomes withered.  The children of Israel experience this, they were sore afraid seeing the red sea before them, and the Egyptian solders behind, no where to turn to either the right or the left, for there were mountains.  But the word of the Lord came to moses, a word of hope, courage, power and victory... Exodus  14:13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

The passing Mantle

2 Timothy  1:5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also. From generation to generations God has been consistent in choosing a representative for himself, to communicate His laws, mandate and purpose for mankind. First He chose Adam, then Abel, he was murdered, He chose Seth, this goes all along for many generations till Noah's era, and then Abraham. God has never changed in this changing time, only men change. His power remain the same. Mantles are  responsibilities and duties which must be fulfilled by anyone who has it. In the spiritual sense of understanding, Mantles are anointing, power and grace of God passed from one person to another. This gives room for continual manifestation of the power of God in each generation. Examples of the passing Mantles Moses and Joshua Moses was specifically chosen by God to lead the children of Israel from Egypt to

Overcoming the Accuser

Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Satan is the accuser of the Brethren, as long as we have been identified with God through the death of Christ and resurrection, he never sleeps nor slumber in the process of bringing accuses against us in other to separate us from the grace we enjoy in Christ.  The fact that we have been  identified with Christ does not mean he will rest and give up on our life, on daily bases he bring temptation and trials before us in other for us to fall into it and sin against God, and this will give him the access to present our fault before God.  He did with Job.  Job  1:9 Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?  1:10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. Job being a just and

Your God or your Money

Luke  16:13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Money is one of the most common examples of mammon as something that people prioritize over the sanctification of their lives. Whether it's the love of money, consumed by an obsession with acquiring more wealth, or the fear of not having enough.  Money is an essential tool in a man's life in this world, it is one of the dimensions of God's wealth, He desires that we have it, and even in abundance, but today, people run after money for temporary satisfaction  rather than God that can give eternal  satisfaction.  1 Timothy  6:9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.  6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and

The Total Turn Around

Isaiah  43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. A turn around is an abrupt or unexpected change, especially one that results in a more favourable situation. Satan had first subjected our life to unpalatable situations of life such as pain, sickness, delay, failure, sorrow among others, but the grace of God came to transform our life from the sorrowful situations of the devil. In many ways God  has given a total turn around to His people who diligently seek Him and honour Him, "for He has promised Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert" Consider the life of Obededom The ark had been in the home of Abinadab and his sons Eleazar, Uzzah, and Ahio for many years since being captured by the Philistines and returned to Israel ( 1 Samuel 5:1 ; 7:1–2 ). David an

Contentment

1 Timothy  6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. Biblical contentment is a conviction that Christ’s power, purpose and provision is sufficient for every circumstances. We are to learn how to walk through all kinds of adversity believing in and experiencing Christ’s sufficiency. We have to choose to rest on God’s good promises despite what may be going on in our lives. When one focuses his life on behaving after the direction of the word of God, he becomes content with life in that his purpose of life is not to consume the things of this world upon his own lusts. Instead of focusing on gaining the riches of this world, a godly man will focus on spiritual things that will result in eternal life. A believer must come to the realization that our passing through this world is too brief to focus on the things of this world, God ordained that the things of this world are to sustain us on our brief stay here in preparation for that which is to come. Since we were born with no

Heavenly Mindedness

Colossians  3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.   "This world is not my home I'm just a-passing through My treasures are laid up Somewhere beyond the blue. The angels beckon me From heaven's open door And I can't feel at home In this world anymore" this was the submission of a renowned gospeller Jim Reeves.  This World is definitely not our abode anymore, our citizenship here became invalid when we sin against God in the garden of Eden,  and ever since a new home, a place with God has been prepared for us. A place better than our present abode, a place of no pain and sorrow full of everlasting joy.  If so then, that we have been redeemed and sanctified  by the blood of Jesus Christ and have become a citizen of heaven, the kingdom of God to come, then our focus, affections and purpose in this world should be centred on heaven  Colossians  3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek tho
