The Sufficiency of God 2
The Great Provider
Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Yesterday we began a series titled THE SUFFICIENCY GOD, and we are made to understand that Our God is the source of all our dependency in this world, He has enough or more than enough to meet any need we have and the key to receiving this abundance from Him is to have unfailing faith in Him..
Today the Lord will be taking us through another aspect of His sufficiency which is being our great provider. God so much loved man that even before he was created everything man will ever need has already been provided for Him. The earth, the sunrise and sunset, food, a beautiful garden, and even a helpmeet that will be his perfect companion.
Everything we would ever need in this world can be provided by God because He is the source of all things, talk of riches, honour, wealth, wisdom, knowledge and understanding, power etc.
1 Chronicles 29:12 Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.
Jesus Christ was teaching His disciples when He wanted to send them out on a mission that they should never be bothered of what to eat, what to drink or where to live, as they have been called into full time ministry. He affirmed that hid himself will be their ultimate provider.
Christ made an illustration, if God in heaven can provide for all the fishes in the sea, birds of the air and animals that walk on ground, how much more we humans made in His divine image?.
Matthew 6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 6:27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 6:28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 6:29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 6:30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
This is an assurance in God that whatsoever our need may be, God is able to provide for us even if it looks to us as impossible.
The story of the children of Israel is a confirmation of God's sufficiency as the great provider.
The children of Israel had murmured against moses in the wilderness when there was nothing to eat. They had walked thousands of miles and has exhausted all food they have on them, so they murmured.
God in his all-sufficiency made provisions for them when they least expected. It was impossible for moses to get food to feed thousands of souls that left Egypt, but it was very easy for God to feed them all and still have remnants.
Exodus 16:12 I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God. 16:13 And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host. 16:14 And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground. 16:15 And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat.
What do you think you lack today and it seems you have no hope anywhere? God is the greatest provider
You may be in financial need, yours may be business ideas, yours may be shelter, yours may be daily bread, or yours may be a life partner, whatsoever you may be in need of, God is the greatest provider who has all things stored in His treasury. All you have to do is to call on Him and have faith in Him.
The sufficiency of God in providing for all our needs can never be limited by any factor of this world.
Trust in Him always and you will never be disappointed.
God bless you.
