Just believe

Mark  5:36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. Have you been at a crossed road seems no where to turn to? Just the the children of Israel at the Red sea. Behind them was the Egyptian forces, on both sides were mountain which can't be easily climbed  But God instructed Moses to command the people to move forward,  Ordinarily it's foolish to believe going forward is the best solution at that point in time, but it is the wisdom of God for deliverance.  The man who spent forty-eight years at the pool of Bethesda was suddenly told by Jesus to pick up his mat and walk..., there should be a contradiction to the words of Jesus as how possible is a man who has not walked for many years to just stand up by himself.  But the man believed and acted on the word.  The first solution to most of our problems is to believe in Christ Jesus, trusting Him that he is capable of helping us irrespective of 'unwise

Abundant life

John  10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Life is the condition of the existence of an individual, the capacity of growth, reproduction, functional activities and continual change towards death. In spite of this, there is more to just life, there is more to live, there is more to be existing as an individual. Abundant life in its term  refers to life in its abounding fullness of joy and strength for spirit, soul and body.  Growing sometimes may add sorrow, challenges, pain, and trauma, But in Christ, we are made to understand, that one is saved if he enters through Him as the door, but such person will also comprehend and enjoy the fullness for which life on earth was meant to be. It is only in Christ that one understands, and also receives those blessings that enrich and enhance living. His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness t

Your work shall be made manifest

1 Corinthians  3:13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. There was once an incident that occur back in the school I studied, I was opportune to have a conversation with the HOD of my department, talking about new intakes using fake O-level/grade six result for admission processes.  I asked why the  school  authorities won't conduct deep screening for the incoming students, he replied "all instructions are given on the website, doing contrary is at the student's risk" he further said the students knows the truth but chose to act otherwise.  Latter on he said, the school management will then wait till their finally year, when investigative panels will be set up, and all papers will be looked into... Then the lose will be more than the begining, imagine studying for five years and not having a result.  Dear reader,  Such is the case

The world will hate you.

John  15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. Hatred is esteem dislike or disgust of something, when you don't love something, you develope hatred for it... And world in the context of the verse could represent your family, neighbourhood, place of work, business associates, friends, colleagues in school etc Christ is the truth of every believer, the light of the world, and the path to the righteousness of God. For the world is evil, of the devil and full of darkness, so it hate the truth. Jesus Christ being the messiah was hated, despised and humiliated, for speaking the truth, even after performing so many miracles, signs and wonders among them... In fact many who rise in opposition against Him were mostly religious people. As Christ the truth of man was hated, so also anyone who has identified themselves with Him will surely be hated too. If anyone loves deceit, hypocrisy, lies, backbiting, they will be loved by the world...  If ye were of the w

God is with you in all circumstances

Hebrews  13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Considering the life of Joseph in the bible, five times in the book of Genesis chapter thirty-nine, the Lord says He was with Joseph, but that didn't exempt him from jealousy and betrayal, or the advances of Potiphar's wife, or her lies that sent him to prison. The bible says, "they bruised his feet with fetters and placed his neck in an iron collar, until the time came to fulfil his dreams, the Lord tested Joseph's character" (Psalm. 105:18-19). Joseph didn't know it, but he was in training for reigning. God wanted to see if he would choose trust over lust, and obedience over expedience. It's in looking back that you realize why one of God's names is "Redeemer", He can redeem everything you've been through - the good, the bad, and the ugly. The lesson Joseph learned is this.

Jesus Christ gave a standing ovation.

Acts  7:55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, After the pentecost experience, the apostles had imparted miraculous gifts to Stephen, he was one of the original seven men chosen by the church to minister to the widows.  Being full of faith and power, he didn't hesitate to speak and  preach the truth of the word of God, which were consequently accompanied by great signs and wonders  A group of people from the synagogue, holding unto the law of moses were vexed with his ministry, claiming he speaks blasphemy against God and their father Moses.  He was arrested and about to be stoned death. Though faced with death, Stephen would not be intimidated, because he was filled with the Holy ghost, God allowed him to miraculously see into heaven, He saw God's glory and Jesus Christ standing beside the Father Jesus stood up for this special martyr for the Christian faith. He gave a st

Christ has set you free.

Galatians  5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. We are saved by grace, not by legal performances of the law, when we recognise this grace, our life will experience peace and joy of Him that sets us free. The fundamental principle of Christianity or believers in Christ is the liberty given to us through His death and resurrection.  As Christ has set us free, we have no other bond with the devil, with the works of sin, with family spell or generational curses..  We have been delivered and our price paid in full. We are no more slaves to sin and the works of the darkness.  If Christ has set you free, why should you live again in fear and sorrow?  Why should you live in disgust and disappointment?  If the life of Christ so abide in you, no weapon of the devil can have dominion over your life.  In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the si

As commanded by God.

Ezekiel  37:7 So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. Prophet Ezekiel experienced a supernatural communication with God in a valley full of dry bones.  He was asked if those bones could live again... He answered, "only you Lord knows", because he recognized and understand that only God has the key to life and death..  His answer ushered in the command to prophecy unto the bones, and suddenly the bones gathered themselves together...  Verse 7 of the chapter revealed that prophet Ezekiel didn't prophecy according to his own purpose, but he said, "so I prophecy as I was commanded". He did purposely as he was commanded  This is a very great lesson for us to grab as believers In Christ, minsters of the gospel, and Co-pilgrims of eternal kingdom.  God have a specific way of doing things for many of His servants in tune past and present, as many that do it according

Do not tolerate Evil

Romans  1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Our life has been redeemed and transformed in the likeness of our father in heaven, becoming the light that shines in the darkness of this world.  Christ Jesus has become the truth in us which makes us walk in His righteousness towards perfection till the last day.  As much as the truth of God has been revealed to us through Christ Jesus in the consciousness of our spirit, Many still finds it difficult to walk in it and become free from deceit.  Many of us do not practice evil, we kept ourselves holy and pure as regulated by the love of Christ in us, but our light of truth refuse to shine against the darkness of evil among us, at our place of work, in the church and in our society, but it rather shy away from it.. How can we walk in the truth of the Lord Jesus Christ revealed to us if we continue to tolerate Evil practices among us?  Our s

Doubt, a Disease

Matthew  14:31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? The story of Jesus and Peter walking on water started from verse twenty-two of the same chapter. Jesus had first bid His disciples to go ahead of Him, while He departed to a mountain to have a short prayer. Through the night the disciples battled with the wind which was contrary to the ship, they were disturbed and very afraid, not until Jesus appeared to them on the sea. The presence of Jesus on the sea at first increased their fear, for they knew not who was on the sea. They rather suggested its a ghost... But Jesus comforted them by revealing himself to them. That alone gave them peace and joy, as they know Jesus have power both in the Spiritual and the physical. Peter's limited faith in the power of Jesus manifested since he asked that Jesus command that he also walk on the water. And Peter did walk on water. In verse thirty

You are complete in Him.

Colossians  2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: The moment we accept Christ Jesus as our Lord and saviour, we have already become united and bonded with Him, by extension we have the personality of Christ in us.  The power of God in us through Christ is enough to challenge any power or any principalities of this world, even as much as Jesus Christ himself is the head of all principalities... If then we are confident in Christ, why should we continue to live in fear of the deceit of the devil or manipulations of man? We have not been given the spirit of fear but of courage, sound mind and wisdom... Christ alone is enough to live our life perfectly well till we meet Him on the last day.. The problem we have today is we have many "Christians" but few believers in Christ... If we truly believes in Him, we will have the full character of Christ in us, both in deeds and in speech. Our constant fall into sin deprives us of our potentials

Protect your health

1 Kings  19:7 And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.  19:8 And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God. Man was created with a physical body, endowed with the spirit of God, the spirit in us is feed by the constant reading and understanding of God's word, while our physical body is feed by food Each person has responsibility to continually check and maintain good health of our mortal body if actually we want to live abundant life promised by God. It is very obvious today that many only feed their spiritual life while neglecting the place of their physical health. The angel told Elijah to eat, and drink, in other to have the strength to walk a long journey, he was not looking for some kind of spiritual power that will make him to just disappear and reappear at a place... Not that it is not possi

Forget those things behind.

Philippians  3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, The christian life is a spiritual journey that guides our life towards heavenly home prepared by Jesus Christ for those who believed in Him. Our  Christian Journey begins with accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Next comes the journey along the pathway of becoming Christ-Like by studying God word, prayer, and fellowship with Christians. This journey is a lifetime pursuit of doing and being what Christ would have each of us do. After accepting Christ, we become a new creature, dropping the old nature of sin and its affection and looking forward onto Jesus... But along the way, many of us tends to look back at what we are already set free from, many got tempted and turned the way round to reunite with the old nature of sin. Apostle declared his confidence and presence in God as he forgets

It doesn't matter if God is the Matter and Master.

John  11:4 When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. This was the popular story of lazarus who died for four days and was raised from death by Jesus Christ  Before His death, he was sick for some days and Jesus was informed, several messages was sent, both in letters and in person, but instead of Jesus to hurry and go save His wonderful friend, Jesus only replied, "this sickness is not unto death" Well, that sounds comforting to Marry and Martha , they must have been joyful because they knew what Jesus can do... He had healed people without touching them, the sound of His words alone is enough to heal lazarus from sickness...   But contrary to their expectations, Lazarus died, hmm, was it not the sickness Jesus preached against?,  yes, lazarus died, not just for some minutes but for good four days...  Would you say Jesus was wicked?, absolutely not, because Jesus  is the Matter an

Do not listen to the crowd

Nehemiah  6:15 So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days.  6:16 And it came to pass, that when all our enemies heard thereof, and all the heathen that were about us saw these things, they were much cast down in their own eyes: for they perceived that this work was wrought of our God. Nehemiah was a slave when he received the report of the destruction of the walls of Jerusalem, he was sorrowful and full of the the burden to rebuild the wall  He prayed to God of his fathers, and God answered by giving him favour and mercy from his master, everything needed for the project was given to him.  On the contrary back home, some elites, men of the society, religious people were against the rebuilding of the wall, they moved against  Nehemiah for rebuilding the wall, citing that how can they possibly rebuild a great wall that has been totally destroyed?  Dear reader, what has God committed unto your hands to do, but you have been receiving crit

God's secret

Psalms  25:14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant. God have secrets, in fact God keeps secret from generation to generations, as invisible as He is, there are mysteries about Him that cannot be unfold my human wisdom or knowledge. In His kindness He gave opportunity for people desiring to know, to understand and to acquire full knowledge of Him. The secret of the Lord is with them that feared him, those who acknowledge His sovereignty, those who honour His words. It is not just accepting Him as Lord, it is not just obeying His word, it is not just doing His will, but the quest to know Him more , the thirst to get more acquainted with Him, the desire to go deeper in Him. How could Moses have gotten the wisdom to write historical journal of the creation of the world after millions of years before he was born?... That's secret... How could God took Enoch, Elijah away without dieing and buried?, ho, they acquire a key to the secret room

The sin of disobedience

John  2:5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. Disobedience is not doing what someone or something with authority tells you to do : refusing or failing to obey rules and  laws From the begining  of the creation of man God has been giving man one command or the other, to follow and to guide us towards perfection in Him.  But sadly man often fall short of this commands, disobey God with our actions and life style... And the result most times is not alway palatable.  Today our focus has always been on the commonly commited sins, like the sin of fornication, adultery, lies, hypocrisy, idolatry, killing etc,  most of us keep ourselves away from this sins but yet our life has not been fruitful.  Little did we know that what is holding us back from the blessings of God in our life is the commonly underrated sin of 'disobedience'  Jesus' mother was able to advice the disciples that, whatever Jesus tell them to do, they should do it..  And the onl

When His Grace becomes your disgrace

Joshua  7:5 And the men of Ai smote of them about thirty and six men: for they chased them from before the gate even unto Shebarim, and smote them in the going down: wherefore the hearts of the people melted, and became as water.  7:6 And Joshua rent his clothes, and fell to the earth upon his face before the ark of the LORD until the eventide, he and the elders of Israel, and put dust upon their heads. There was a time someone said, "those who carry the Grace of God in their life can never be disgraced", at some point I agree to it but the case was very different with Joshua and the Israelite.. God had first made a vow to Joshua, that He will be with him, and every land he so step his leg on shall be given to him... Not only that, the physical representation of the presence of God is always with him (the Ark of covenant). What else can stop Joshua from succeeding?. There comes a war between Israel and the little city of Ai, it is very humiliating for Israelite to go in the b

Rapture Ready?

1 Thessalonians  5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. In a time of insecurity. Lawlessness and Banditry, many have sort for a means to secure themselves against any form of attack. Politicians and many highly influential men have employ different kinds of security outfit, some will go with lots of convoy when moving from one place to another. Some security measure certain people placed in their houses is so great that no matter the weapon used to attack the house, it will never penetrate. All these are done just to guard  themselves against thieves, bandits, kidnappers etc. They are prepared and ready for any attack that may come thier way. As a believer in Christ, are you rapture Ready?, are you guarding  your heart against spiritual bandits, kidnappers, and hired assassins? The Bible says the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. It is not a time you will know, it is not a time you ever dream of, the day will come

I never knew you.

Matthew  7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?   7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Imagine being a marketer in a banking sector, haven't drawn massive  customers to the bank, spending your time and resources working day and night just to make sure people have an account, not just account but active ones.  And at the end of the month thousands of customers were recorded on your name, but you receive the shock of your life because your name is not on the payroll for that month... Ho  After displaying so much drama, the bank manger came down and said ' Mr man, we don't know you here'. With a sincere heart how will you feel?, just when you are about to receive the reward for a job well done... Is it the debt you incur on transportation you want to account or the stress of sleeplessness

Do not doubt His promise.

2 Kings  7:1 Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.   7:2 Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof. It was a time of famine, it was a time of scarcity, people are hungry, life is hard for everyone, including the children of God, no one is exempted, even men of God are not left out.  In spite all this a true man of prophecy, a man of God who was led by the spirit of God, a man of God who speaks not for recognition or fame.... He declared by the next day,  a bad of rice will be sold for five thousand naira, a bad of cement will be sold for six hundred naira, petrol will be sold for fifty naira per litter.. Storage right? But that wa

Give God the wheel

Psalms  71:12 O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help. This morning  while in the office I heard an unusual sound which seems like car collision, I rushed outside to take a view of what is happing, lo and behold it was an accident, a young brother was the driver,  thank God there was no casualty. People gathered to ask what really happen, he said ... 'I slept off, I have been working since  yesterday with little or no rest'. People console with him, but I wonder why he didn't give the wheel to a friend who they were together in the same car... Do you know our life is just like the car... We Try to make ends meet, we try to make things right for our own good, thereby struggling to make a ballance, but at the point our strength becomes exhausted and we head for a collision.  But do you know God has not created us to struggle with anything in life?, right from the creation of man. God first created everything man needs before creating man, just for man not

Be an example of Christ

1 Timothy  4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Believers in christ are categorised as the disciples of Christ, followers, and at some instance given the name Christians, because they portray the characteristics of Christ Jesus in their words, conversation and in spirit. It is very sad and hard to actually distinguish between the true  believers in  Christ and name carrier... Many claim to be Christian or so to say believers in Christ, but when you check their life very closely, their way of life speak opposite. Apostle Paul  admonish Timothy in his letter, that if we sure came to follow Christ then, we should show off the fruit of a true believer in Christ through... One: in our words,  our words is a very great weapon that is capable of defining our present and our future, the Bible says 'our of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speak', Whatsoever that will come ou

Hold on a little longer

Psalms  27:14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. Life as a believer in christ may be very challenging sometimes, our expectation may be defeated in some cases, our expectations has always been a war free life, a life without sorrow and difficulties, a life without pain and tears  But as we journey with Him, we  seems to experience the opposite of our expectations, we come to understand that life in Christ is full of challenges.  Many have prayed, fasted, been to mountain and valley, paid offerings, sow seeds, made vows, all in the name of finding solution to persistent problems... But it seems Jesus is not noticing our life troubles.  But dear reader, Jesus said i should tell you He has always been with you, He sees and understands all you are going through...He said you should hold on a little longer, that is salvation is very near.  Hear the words He sent to you in Psalms...  "Are you troubled and your heart fille

The Great Commission

Matthew  28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.  28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: After the great torment and vigorous death of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross, he was buried and to the glory of God resurrected in the newness of His glory, this sealed the process of our salvation in God... Nevertheless on the third day after resurrection, He charged his disciples (everyone at Galili, not only the twelve disciples) that they should continue to preach the Gospel of salvation unto everyone wherever they go to. It is obvious in latter days that many thought the commission of preaching is only restricted to pastors, evangelist, prophets and minsters of God... Those who have received calling.. That is a wrong perspective to look from, Jesus gave the commission unto everyone who has believed him, once you are saved, you are implore

The messed-up Cup

2 Corinthians  5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. At the place of work, He gave me two cups that belongs to him, and went away... Several years passed, I decided to go meet him at his residence, I was happy and joyful that I will see my boss once again. Before I left I decided to pack my luggage (for I'm staying long) , picked up one of the two cups my boss left with me (actually it's the only cup I used out of the two) I set on the journey and arrived safely. At evening when everyone gathered at the table, as I sat, I noticed my cup was placed before him it's the very cup he decided to use, I was surprised that of all cups in his house, why chose the one I brought?, truthfully I didn't use the cup well, it was roughly used that even if you use hypo to wash it, it won't be clean.. He looked at me with anger and said , "

The Gifted Rebel

Numbers 16:1-50 Numbers  16:1 Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men:  16:2 And they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown:   To rebel is to organise or to  rise in opposition or armed resistance against an established government or leader A rebel is a person who resists or defies rules or norms or rises up against the powers that be. In its more serious sense, a rebel is a revolutionary trying to overthrow a government Rebellion is an everyday act which  is evident in most countries, and the body of Christ is not left behind Devil was the  initiator, the inventor of rebellion, he rebelled against God his creator, he purposed in his heart to raise his throne higher than God, in other words, he can do better than what  God has/is doing. Rebellion always star

Easter without the life of Christ

Romans  8:10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. Jesus didn't die because he wants to perform a trick to the disciples Jesus didn't  die because he was tired of life He didn't die because he was acting a movie, probably given a sleeping tablet.  Jesus died once for you not to die twice, He lived after death for you to live forever  Your act of soberness during Easter period is not enough than to have an unbroken relationship with Him.  Crying over the death of Christ during this period is not enough than to cry for your soul, picturing  where you will spend your eternity  The purpose of this period is to have a reflection of your life from when you have not accepted Christ, the journey to the redemption of your soul and your present relationship with him.  Truthfully we have a wonderful encounter and heartbreaking experience when Jesus saved our soul, but do we still have that peace in us as a child of G

The evidence of His presence.

Exodus  33:15 And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. This is the third time Moses will intercedes for Israel, it is here they Moses was reassured by God that He would be with him as he led the people from Mount Sinai. Moses was thus calling in the grace of God to overlook their sin in order to be with them as a nation.  "my presence will go with you" this is a reassurance statement from God, Moses could confidently lead.  Strong leaders perceive the presence of God in their lives, the power of their leadership is in their confidence that God is leading then in their destiny to fulfill His will in their lives.  The fact the fact that Moses knew he is already anointed by God does not aimlessly give him the total assurance he will do well on the journey if there is no concrete assurance from God who sent him He beckoned on the presence of God, even though the physical appearance is not viable, yet God was with him in the spirit. No wonder Go
