Stretcher Bearers

Mark  2:3 And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.

In the verse above we have four burdened men,  who cares so much about the healing of their friend.

Not much was known about them,  like their names,  age,  and positions in life

But we do know they were concerned about  a sick friend

They believed Christ would meet his need and so they were burdened enough to go,

Approaching the house with their friend in his bed,  the house was already crowded to get in.  There will  always be obstacle in our ways,

This four men looked up,  and found a solution,  though costly, as the roof will be broken,  but they never hesitate.... These four men were  great stretcher bearers, they have no personal gain from helping this thier friend in getting healed.

They took their friend to the roof of the room Christ was and let him down, and that act of kindness made Christ to heal the sick on the stretcher. Mark  2:4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.  2:5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

Much like this stretcher bearers were Aaron and Hur  and who help held moses' hand when Israelite were in battle with the Amalekite.  Exodus  17:11 And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.  17:12 But Moses' hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.  17:13 And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.

How far can you go in helping others?
How much can you sacrifice in securing  solution for others who needs it. ?

Many wouldn't have died,  if you had lend a helping hand

Many wouldn't have be in poverty,  if you had used your influence in securing them a job, setting them in business or provide a good learning environment for them.

Would you rather be a stretcher bearer or a grave digger?

Your position today can help someone,  look into it and make a difference.

You only have a moment to help, a moment to save a life, a moment to put smile on another person's face, a moment to change the life of another. God has given you opportunity, don't misuse it.

God bless you.
