The reward of inheritance in Christ

Colossians 3:22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; 3:24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

As we have been redeemed into the family of God through the sacrificial death of Christ on the cross, we now live according to the purpose of Him that saved us and not unto the will of the flesh. 

By this, we are expected to obey all the commandments of God made available in the scripture. 

Nevertheless, our relationship with Christ, forgetting the things of the world and cleaving to the things above will not go unrewarded. The reward is having an inheritance in Christ. 

Apostle Paul admonished the Colossian believers of the prerequisite of receiving the inheritance deserving unto those who are of Christ. 

For us to receive the reward of an inheritance in Christ, we must live in total obedience to God, serving God with the whole of Our heart and not with eyeservice, having the fear of God in His presence and in all we do among men. 

Our inheritance in Christ is not what is limited in this life, but what has been established in the eternity of God's kingdom. It is an inheritance that is not perishable, it is only for those who live the whole of their life in Christ till death. 

You can only be sure of receiving this reward only if your life here on earth aligned with the standard of Christ. 

Don't be discouraged when the world hates you for following Christ, let your focus be on God and the inheritance you have in Christ. God is with you always.
