The cry of the poor

Psalms  34:6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

The God we serve is a universal God, he is all for all, for those who can seek him irrespective of colour, tribe, background or social status. He is not limited to the rich or the highly influential, He relates with everyone equally by the measure of His grace.

Our God is a living God that does not reject anyone that comes to Him.  His hand of deliverance reaches to the end of the earth and beyond.

King David, in Psalm 34:6 acknowledge the saving grace of God upon His life when he was before Abimelech. In his lowly status, He prayed that God could spare His life, and His prayer was answered. He considers himself a poor man who has no power or might of his own to save himself.

In same view Hannah, after being comforted with a child after many years of childlessness affirms that God truly answer the prayers of the poor. 1 Samuel  2:7 The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.  2:8 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD's, and he hath set the world upon them.

Your lowly background or status is not a yardstick to God not to answer your prayers or hear your cry. As poor, rejected and blind  Bartimaeus was, when He cried, Christ answered and turn his life around for good.

What state of life are you that you think God cannot answer your prayers? God hears the cry of the poor and turn their lives around, as long as you can humble yourself before Him, your life will not remain the same.

Being poor may not be limited to financial needs, one may be spiritually poor, emotionally poor etc

Do not  condemn yourself because of your present condition, cry to Him and pour out your heart to Him, He will surely answer. Have faith.
