Living an honorable life
James 3:13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
To live an honorable life is to act in an honorable way. Honor is not something we receive freely, but is given in response to the way we interact with others.
As believers we can live an honourable life when our life tally with the character of Christ who is our role model in this world of sin.
To be like Jesus means to forgive like Jesus and to lobe like Him . Although this is not an easy thing to do, it is the right thing to do. Forgiving the undeserving is probably one of the most honorable things a person can do.
Extending such grace to someone who has been unkind to you, or even to the people you love, is a beautiful picture and reflects the attitude and affections of our Lord.
1 Peter 2:12.“Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God.”
Peter is alluding to the fact that…. in this world, people are going to mock you. People are going to speak ill of you. People will attack you. People will treat you unfairly.
But, Peter says here, even when we act honourably according to the standard of Christ, the world will seek to attack us and speak ill of us, but at such, we should continually keep our conduct honorable, and trust that God will use our honorable behavior as the means of declaring his own glory to unbelievers.
Live honourably wherever you find yourself irrespective of what the world say or do to you.
God bless you.
