Reward of fornication

1 Corinthians  6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

Fornication is defined as sexual activity between two people who are not married to each other. It is a sin that is clearly condemned in the scripture, and the consequences of it can be severe.

The apostle Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, "Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."

The Bible is clear that sexual activity is reserved for marriage between one man and one woman. When we engage in sexual activity outside of marriage, we are dishonoring God and disrespecting our own bodies. We are treating our bodies as if they are just objects for pleasure rather than the holy vessels that they are.

The reward of fornication is temporary pleasure that quickly fades away, leaving behind feelings of guilt, shame, and regret. This temporary pleasure can also have lifelong consequences, such as unwanted pregnancies, sexually transmitted diseases, and emotional trauma. These consequences can impact not only the individual but also their future relationships and families.

Moreover, the Bible warns us that fornicators will not inherit the kingdom of God. In 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Paul says, "Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."

Therefore, let us flee from sexual immorality and honor God with our bodies. Let us strive to live pure and holy lives, knowing that the reward of fornication is only temporary pleasure and eternal separation from God.

Let us seek forgiveness if we have fallen into this sin and ask for the strength to resist it in the future. May the Lord help us to remain pure and holy in both our bodies and our minds. Amen.
