The Deceit of a Brother
1 Corinthians 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
It has become a custom among brethren to call each other "Brother" or "Sister", this is a kind of love that exist among believes in Christ.
Identifying oneself with Christ means crucifying the flesh on the cross and living a life of righteousness and holiness according to the perfect will of God.
Nevertheless the devil never stop from time immemorial to tempt and deceive believers by enslaving them in secret sin which makes them becomes cancer in the body of Christ.
Many claimed to be a brother among the believer and yet, there are elements of sin in them, and by this deceive others into the same sin.
Apostle Paul through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit wrote to the church at corinth and warned that if any man who calls himself a "brother" or a "Christian" or a "Sister" and yet is a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; that with such one should not keep company, neither sit at the same table to eat... Because their food can be contagious.
Many babies in Christ has fallen into the trap of those who calls themselves "brother" and thereby lure them into sin, some disguising as mentors, counselors or "fathers in the Lord" so to say.
This also is not limited to some "ministers of God" who has risen to stardom and yet engage in secret sin, they rather cover themselves up with gifts so their secret is not always revealed to the public, and those whom they have enslaved in sin will rather keep mute so as to keep their image.
The word of God is cristal clear never to keep company with such else, you will be dragged to hell unnoticed.
Who are you keeping company with?, a sister in the Lord in the day and becomes a prostitute at night?, a brother on the alta but a fornicator at night? A pastor that raised the sick and dead in the day and also s paedophile at night?. From such the word of God said, do not keep company.
If you have found yourself in such a trap of sin, the best way to break free is to upon up to God and seek counsel, the more you conceal in secret, the more you sink in the pit of sin
Break forth from the deceit of a "brother" or "sister".
