The day of the Lord is coming
Zephaniah 1:14 The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. 1:15 That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, 1:16 A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers. 1:17 And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung. 1:18 Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.
The Lord is coming back again like a thief in the night, he won't come like a lamb to be slaughtered by His enemy, but as a lion to devour His enemy.
It would be a great day of sadness for those who work and walk against God's will on earth, those who could not crucify the flesh and its works, those who does wickedly among men, those who follow the desires of their heart in disobedience against God's will.
It will be a day of regret for those who started well with God but got discouraged on the way, those who are tempted by the lust of this world and fell through the enticement of the devil.
It will be a day of sorrow for the hypocrite, whose life are full of sin but their outer look is covered with religious work, those who appear to be godly but are wolves in secret.
It will be a day of anguish for those who are slothful with the works of God and those who has turn the ministry committed into their hands to personal enriching business
The day of the Lord is coming when God will judge you of everything you do here on earth, either in secret or in the open, a day when your work of faith shall be tested by fire.
The word has been preached to you on several occasions, but what has been your response towards it? Peter, James, John, zaccheus, Mary, Deborah etc who heard the word yesterday are dead today, If their preparedness is not in conformity with the standard of the living God, no doubt they will find themselves in hell.
Your success in life does not determine your success in God and His kingdom, Whoever his/her name is not in the book of life shall be thrown into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur.
How prepare are you for the day of the Lord? Are your garments still white as snow?
Your life may end today, it is not a tragedy, but the greatest tragedy is for you not to die in Christ. Desist from your evil ways, repent from your sins and cling to Christ the saviour. Until then the day of lord shall be a day of joy for you.
He that have ears, let him hear what the spirit says...
