Start Listening

Psalms 81:13 “Oh, that My people would listen to Me, That Israel would walk in My ways! (NKJV) 

Merriam-Webster defines hearing as the “process, function, or power of perceiving sound; specifically: the special sense by which noises and tones are received as stimuli.” Listening, on the other hand, means “to pay attention to sound; to hear something with thoughtful attention; and to give consideration.”

In the book of psalm, God Himself was lamenting over the behavioural pattern of the children of Israel for only hearing but to listening to His commands. 

Everyone have the privilege of hearing God from time to time, but very few listen to what they have heard, not very much pay attention and give consideration to what the Lord is saying. This, has made many to experience difficulties they find themselves. 

The children of Israel refused to be loyal to God, He thus gave them up because  of their disobedience. If they had obeyed God, their history would have been completely different. 

Even those who hate the Lord would have been subjected to them. They would have had no need for food, for God would have supplied them from rocks. 

Israel's history proved that the urge of man to follow after his own ways is strong. In many ways God sold them out because of their own interest which is against God's will.

Today, in most of God's word you have heard, how many have you paid attention to, how many of his commandments in your life have you given consideration? 

Look at numerous benefits the children of Israel lost because they are not listening to their creator. Psalms  81:14 I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.  81:15 The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.  81:16 He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.

So also you, for not listening, you are losing your benefits in God which does not need praying for. 

Start listening to God today, and save yourself of life struggle.
