The Sons of Sceva

Acts  19:13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the LORD Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.  19:14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.  19:15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

At the begining of Paul's ministry many wonders were done and unimaginable miracles  through the power of God so much that hand-kerchiefs and aprons that came in contact with him were made to heal the sick, this continued so much that his fame went abroad in the whole of Asia 

While at that, there were seven sons of Sceva who was a Jewish chief priest. They tried to cast out demons by the authority of Jesus' name in whose name Paul was casting out demons. 

The evil spirit said to the sons of Sceva that he knew Jesus Christ the son of God and Paul His servant, but he did not know these who pretended to have supernatural authority. 

He recognized the authority in Jesus, but stated that the sons of Sceva had no such authority. Therefore, the demon-possessed man from whom they were attempting to cast out a demon leaped on these fake prophets. He overcame them and tore their clothes. They subsequently ran out of the house naked and wounded 

Note that they were sons of a Jewish priest, they know who God is, but do not believed in Christ the son of God, the priest were the ones who crucified Christ of being an antagonist to their religion. The same Christ they wanted to use His authority to cast out demons. You can't give what you don't have. 

Do you know, such is a life of a person who calls him/herself a follower of Christ and still dwell in sin. You can't stop sickness, problems from attacking your life because you have been disconnected from Christ the only way to God. 

You can't engage in extramarital affairs and stop devil from attacking your home, you don't  have authority as a priest of your home to cast out devil and his agents from your marriage. 

And as many who calls themselves ministers and prophets of God when He has not called them, using the name of Christ to deceive many and rob them off their resources, you can fake miracles, signs and wonders, but deliverance will show you the real deal just has it showed the sons of Sceva 

You can't receive the blessings and grace of God without submitting to His authority, guiding and instructions.  You can't reap where you have not  sowed and you can't enjoy the benefits of God when you are still connected with the devil through sin. 

Don't be like the sons of Sceva, change your ways, align/realign yourself to God, else the devil will so destroy your life more than you can ever imagine.
