Stop entertaining the Devil
Matthew 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Jesus Christ was led into the wilderness in a spiritual empowerment for the commencement of His earthly ministry. Behold, Satan was waiting patiently for Him. Knowing fully well that the ministry of Christ is the precedence of the redemption of mankind and will jeopardise his works on earth.
Satan has no power in the life of any believer, but has a way to engage anyone in a conversation so as to gain access into such person. The same he does with Christ, firstly asking him to exercise His power to turn stone to bread since he is hungry.
Secondly to jump down from a high place, after all, angels will help Him and not let Him fall. And finally to bow for him in exchange for all the riches of the world. All his conversations with our Lord were harmless conversation but a dangerous means to destroy the redemptive plan of God. But Christ was wiser, He cut the conversation, and rebuked him.
Satan came to Eve with harmless questions in other to penetrate and made them sin against God. Eve was unconscious of the environment, she fell into the trap of Satan and entertained him. She regret her action because what was lost was never regained.
Samson, the most powerful man on earth, endowed by the anointing of Jehovah from birth, he not only entertain Satan in a conversation but also romanced the devil in the life of Delilah. The conversation led to the exposing of the source of his divine power. He never lived to tell the story. He died with his enemies.
Peter, before becoming an apostle was used as a communication link by satan against Christ, trying to discourage Christ of the task of redemption before Him. Matthew 16:22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. 16:23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
Jesus Christ was able to decode the devil speaking through peter, and rebuked Satan immediately. There are some who would discourage you of God's divine mandate entrusted into you, they are not the ones speaking but Satan through them. Rebuke the Satan speaking through them before the conversation hit deep in your heart.
Satan can speak through anyone, your friend, wife, husband, boss, pastor, mentor, etc
You can never win a conversation Satan initiated, he is so crafty and decisive that you won't know it was the devil speaking. Always be spiritually conscious and full of the wisdom of God to decode when Satan is speaking.
Before suicide, was depression, behind every depression is a conversation with the devil.
Rebuke satan and he will flee, stop entertaining devil, or you will become a dish for the conversation.
