Obedience has no Substitute

Isaiah  1:13 Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.

Substitute is a person/thing acting or serving in place of another. As good and productive as it may look when it comes to helping men, it is not the case in God's dictionary.

In the scripture verse above, the people of God, named after Him, raised and cared for, were rebellious, despite all they received from Him.

Rather than listening to the voice of their creator and have a change of mind, they were full of various activities. As good as their activities were, God rejected them.

Are you insisting on fasting and prayers because of your intention to marry, or partnering in business when God has given you a red flag? Or you are willing to get that appointment in which you know very well is ungodly?

Are you still tying yourself down to that job and spending so much on God's work, when you know God is calling you into full-time ministry?

 Your prayers and fasting, dancing and clapping, payment of tithes, offerings and alms giving done when you are still living in your sinful life, as fascinating as they may be, are all meaningless to God, if you fail to obey His word. Obedience has no substitute.

You can't bribe God with anything against obedience to His words and will. Many has rejected His will and concluded they will ask for mercy at the long run... Yet they don't know that the mercy of God out of His will is full of sorrow and pain. 

King Saul worked against God's will, he wasn't obedient enough to have wiped out completely the Amalemkites, but brought fat rams to appease God as a sacrifice. He and his sacrifice was rejected 

Look deep into your life today and see where you have been disobedient to God, all your good deeds both physical and spiritual out of God's will amounts to nothing before God. 

Remember, obedience is better than sacrifice, and listening to God better than giving fat rams. Obedience has no substitute... Not even the works of faith.
