Strange Logic

Luke  1:26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,  1:27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.

It is strange enough that God includes finite human beings, mere creatures in His magnificent plan to redeem the world. 

But He often makes a point of using people who were weak and insignificant rather than powerful and influential. I probably would have listed the resources of the roman Caesar Augustus, but no. God bypasses the powerful structures of the day and goes to a nothing town in Galilee. He calls on a young virgin and her insignificant fiancé. What is God thinking? 

God is thinking the same thing that was in His mind when He inspired David to battle Goliath ; when He arranged for a Jewish girl named Hadassah (Esther) to win a Persian beauty contest; when he called lowly fishermen to be disciples and then leaders of His church. 

When great triumphs through weak and insignificant people, its easy to see that the humans aren't the ones behind it. God is. 

Years latter the apostle Paul would write to the unruly Corinthians, many of whom said he wasn't worthy of their respect. He was physically unattractive. He was bold in his witting but timid when talking face to face. 

He wasn't polished. Paul's response? "that's right! And the fact that anything good comes out of my ministry shows that God is truly the one behind it" ... Paul understood God's logic. 

So also is God's program for your life, don't be surprised when those you have pictured would help you in time of need suddenly forsake you... If they help, they take the glory, and it isn't God.  But when God planned your help from the least expected person, you also will personally know that it can only be God. 

It can only be God when the first church could speak different tongues without learning it at pentecost. 

It can only be God when Sarah who has reached menopause for years and still conceive and gave birth without complication. 

It can only be God when a dead man of four days could come back to life. 

God's logic is different from man's permutation. Until you understand it, then you can trust God in all situations of your life.
