Our Heavenly Dwelling

2 Corinthians  5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:

At the creation when God made the heavens and the earth, it is naturally understood that the spirit of God that dwells in heaven cannot manifest perfectly in the earth realm so a body is needed to house the spirit of God.

This, God made possible by making a body out  of the earth to house his spirit which He breaths into. Jesus Christ also needed a housing body when coming to this world, so he came through a virgin marry, in other to conform to the habitat of this  world.

Apostle Paul speaks in the verse above of our body as not the real self. We dwell in our body as someone would dwell in a house. In comparison to the spiritual and glorious body that is to come, this present earthly body  is fragile, because it originates from that which is of this earth and it is corruptible.

However, the habitation in which we will dwell in eternity will originate from God. It will not  be a body built after the manner by which men make houses, but it will be a body that is suited for eternal dwelling.

Our hope of being clothed again with a body from God should motivate our inward expectation. Believers should strive daily in anxious expectation to be transformed from the earthly body in which they now dwell into the heavenly body that will dwell painlessly in eternal heaven.

The question is, are you striving daily to have this heavenly body which is not made of this earth and shall be incorruptible?

You take care so much to keep your earthly body in form, some  subject their body to different transformation, either to look younger, more cute, having a better light skinned body among others, yet, no matter how much you spend, it will still be consumed by the earth.

Why not invest into the heavenly body that is incorruptible, that is worthy to stand before God.

Your righteous and godly living here on earth will only guarantee you a body to live in, in the kingdom of God. Check your life today, are your ways right with God?, are your works justified by God's will? If not, retrace your steps before it is too late.

God bless you.
