A Tragic End

1 Samuel  31:4 Then said Saul unto his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. Therefore Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.

Saul was divinely favoured and chosen from a humble background, to trail blaze Israel's kingship, when he least expected.

God also gave him his godly desires, He carried God's anointing and backing. One expects a man like this, with such mouth-watering opportunities to succeed to the end, but not all who start well make it to the end.

What finished Saul includes impatience and going beyond his borders(wrongly assuming priestly role. 1Samuel 13:5) disobedience (1 Samuel 15:1-9), jitter jealousy/envy and murderous campaigns against David, killing of God's servants and idolatry.

These brought disasters on him, God rejected him such that his kingdom was taken away and given to a better one, David, by far younger than himself

Saul with such great potential eventually died in great shame. He was killed by neither his genuine nor imagined enemies. He killed himself, by the way   he had died spiritually before his death, having been abandoned by God.

What a tragic end, you wouldn't want such to happen to you... Having discovered God has invested  ot in you, either anointed or not, in whatever capacity God has placed you, repent of those ungodly dispositions now.

God bless you.
