Diligent Work

Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

Every day presents us with a multitude of tasks, responsibilities, and opportunities. Ecclesiastes 9:10 encourages us to approach these tasks with all our might. Whether big or small, each task deserves our diligent effort.

When we commit ourselves wholeheartedly to our daily work, whether it is at home, in our careers, or in our communities, we honour God and manifest His presence in our lives. Diligent works cultivate discipline, efficiency, and excellence, paving the way for success and fulfillment.

Diligence in Our Spiritual Journey:

Our spiritual journey requires diligent works as well. It is not enough to have knowledge or wisdom alone; we must put our faith into action. James 1:22 reminds us, "But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves." Diligent works in our spiritual lives involve regular prayer, studying the Scriptures, and actively living out the teachings of Christ. Through these diligent acts, we deepen our relationship with God and become transformed vessels for His love and grace.

 Diligence in Serving Others:

As followers of Christ, we are called to serve others diligently. Galatians 6:9 encourages us, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

Diligent works in service involve compassionately caring for those in need, extending a helping hand to the marginalized, and loving our neighbors as ourselves. When we diligently serve others, we reflect God's heart and become agents of His mercy and love in the world.

 Diligence in Building Relationships:

Our relationships also require diligent works. Proverbs 18:24 tells us, "A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." Diligence in relationships involves investing time, effort, and care into nurturing healthy connections.

It means being present, actively listening, and showing genuine concern for others. Through our diligent works in relationships, we foster trust, create strong bonds, and contribute to the well-being of those around us.

The call to diligent works is a divine invitation to live purposefully and make a positive impact in our lives and the lives of others. Let us heed the wisdom found in Ecclesiastes 9:10 and commit ourselves to approaching every task, whether big or small, with all our might.

May our diligent works be a reflection of our love for God and our desire to serve Him faithfully. As we embark on this journey of diligent works, let us remember that our efforts are not in vain, for they have the power to transform our lives, bring glory to God, and contribute to the building of His kingdom.

God bless you.
