Personal Discipline
Job 36:10 He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.
Discipline provides people with rules to live their lives efficiently and effectively. When you have discipline in your life you can make small sacrifices in the present for a better life in the future. Discipline creates habits, habits make routines, and routines become who you are daily.
Discipline is the secret of success in life. Every prosperous business person never casts aspersions on it. So also will there be nothing called Christianity today if discipline was missing on the the life of Jesus while He chose to come as a man.
So much success records are slipping Christians' hands because they wanted prayer to do what discipline should do.
Discipline is simply the control you set for yourself. If you must be an achiever, discipline must be your life guide; if you must be a growing Christian, you must let it tame you;
if you must be regenerated and sanctified, ready to meet the Lord, you must incorporate it in your life's control measures
It you must be a successful and scandal-free minister, you must marry it and let it tame you with the help of the Holy Spirit.
It is exceptionally personal, reason you are not allowed to pattern your life after someone else's. It is your distinguishing value from the common majority.
Be discipline in time management, communication, relationships, finances, scheduled plan and adherence to it, spiritual exercises and consistence in observing them, constant personal devotions. Your discipline strategy is as important as your existence, place utmost value on it
In the scripture above, God's interest to inspire man to a discipline life is informative. The heart is not the target, God chose the ear because it is the sole responsibility of man to decide and work it out.
Your decision to build a disciplined life is a decision for a worthwhile life of great hope in the future.
Prophet Elisha was able to discipline himself by rejecting the offer of Naaman, but Gehazi would not.. Although the gifts brought to them was what they wanted, but it was never what they need at that particular point in time. Gehazi undisciplined life cost him great lose in the ministry of the prophets.
Ensure to have personal Discipline both spiritually and physical, a little crack in the wall if enough for the devil to strike at your life. Watch out.
