... With God

Matthew  19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. The success of a  man is depends on his hardworking ability and perseverance, but some things can not be achieved by natural ability except a supernatural force intervenes  In many ways God has intervened in the Labour of a man's work who surrenders to His will and yield to His instructions.  The scripture text  above is often quoted by believers when man's effort seems to become limited, nevertheless God will not intervene if man has done nothing for himself  or executed His instructions in accordance to His will.  Your own path with God's power will guarantee all round success. You can't expect God's input without you playing your role. When Abraham was expectant of a child, in spite of God's promises and covenant, God draw his attention to what he needed to do before the promises will come to fulfillment even when medically it is imposs

He was four days late

John  11:32 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. Many are times when the act of God remains a mystery to man, it takes only the spirit filled soul to decode little. Lazarus was sick, Jesus was called but he didn't showed up, Lazarus who was the friend of Jesus,  at some point He will Lodge at his house after a long time of ministrations. At some point one would wonder why Jesus didn't make a move when Lazarus was sick... The disciples thought it would be easier for Jesus than when he is dead.  We didn't understand. Lazarus died despite having Jesus has a friend,  you also may have strong intimacy with Jesus, but when you called on Him for help at some crucial time, He didn't answer... When Lazarus died, He had people to help contact Jesus, but yet it didn't moved Jesus...   You also have been to so many prominent men of God, spirit filled and fi

Direction and Guidance

Psalms  119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Direction is the path through which someone moves... While guidance is the instruction given through which one navigates the paths to follow  In so many ways God direct our life towards His will, and also ready to guide us thorough it. But sadly many only accept God's direction but neglect His guidance  Without guidance and direction we cannot succeed in God even if we succeed in one.  His word today in our life is the lamp unto our feet, he gives us direction on where to go, Abraham was instructed to leave his father's house, moses was told to start a mission of redemption for the Israelite, Apostle paul was told to go to Damascus and he will be told what to do.  Each of them act accordingly and were blessed by following the guidance and direction of God at some instances respectively.  Nevertheless, there are many who followed God's direction but failed to yield to His Guidance, their smooth journe

Living without Regret

Acts  20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. Imagine your life is over and you are standing in from of a big DVD player. God inserts a disc with your name on it labelled 'what might have been'.  It details everything He wanted to accomplish through you: how He wanted to bless you financially, but you were afraid to sow into His kingdom and generous with others...  How He wanted to use your gifts, but you lacked the discipline to develop them and the courage to use them...  How He gave you great relationships, but you weren't truthful and loving enough to maintain them...  How He longed to reproduce in you the character of Christ, but you refused to deal with your sin, resist temptation, and pursue spiritual growth... How He wanted to make the best out of you for a successful marriage, but

Don't be like Jonah

Jonah 4:1-2 But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he became angry. [2]So he prayed to the Lord, and said, “Ah, Lord, was not this what I said when I was still in my country? Therefore I fled previously to Tarshish; for I know that You are a gracious and merciful God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, One who relents from doing harm. The story and ministry of Jonah was a very spectacular one in the scripture, God had instructed him to go to the city of Nineveh and preach to them so they can be saved. But he fled to Tarshish which is in opposite direction of his mission. Many scholars and Scripture readers condemn the action of prophet Jonah for fleeing from God or for abandoning the ministry of salvation he was commissioned for. But little did we know about the intent of prophet Jonah.   As at the time of his ministry, Nineveh was the capital of the Asyrians, and they were the ones prophesied by prophet Isaiah, Amos and Hosea that would invade the Northern kingdom of

The return of the Devil

Matthew  12:43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.   12:44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.  12:45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation. It is a good thing to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour, the new life to be experienced in Christ cannot be compared to a life experienced in others. Identifying your life with Christ makes you number one suspect to the devil, Your life will eventually be placed on a special project with special evil forces who will never stop day and night to track your life down to the pit of hell Accepting Jesus as your Lord and saviour, and forsaking the old nature is no more the big deal, but th

Medicine for Doubters

Acts 9:5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. 9:6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. There was a time I was traveling and had to stop by at a fueling station to get a refill, while I was being attended to I heard a discussion by two attendants who are not engaged at the moment. The subject of their discussion was that, one said he doesn't believe in God while the other believes. The one who doesn't believe said, how can someone says he was existing without being born, his confidence was second to none.. I cannot but join the discussion.  As much I as try to preach and explain who God is, he was not buying into it.. Then I asked if he believes in witches and wizard or the gods of the land he was.. He said he believes, and added that those ar

Personal Discipline

Job  36:10 He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity. Discipline provides people with rules to live their lives efficiently and effectively. When you have discipline in your life you can make small sacrifices in the present for a better life in the future. Discipline creates habits, habits make routines, and routines become who you are daily. Discipline is the secret of success in life. Every prosperous business person never casts aspersions on it. So also will there be nothing called Christianity today if discipline was missing on the the life of Jesus while He chose to come as a man. So much success records are slipping Christians' hands because they wanted prayer to do what discipline should do. Discipline is simply the control you set for yourself. If you must be an achiever, discipline must be your life guide; if you must be a growing Christian, you must let it tame you;  if you must be regenerated and sanctified, ready to meet the

Little is a Lot

Matthew  14:17 And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.  14:18 He said, Bring them hither to me.  After a long hours of ministration, Jesus perceived the multitude must be tired and hungry, He would not want to send then back home with empty stomach because they are far away from town. Just as God knows what you are going through after devoting your time, energy and resources in serving Him.  Jesus asked His disciples to search for food by which the multitude can be fed, but as disappointing as it is, all they could get was five loaves of bread and two fishes from a young boy, probably his lunch for that day.  It was very little that it can't actually feed two grown adult not to talk of five thousand men excluding women and children. The disciples were disappointed that they suggest they send some people to go to town to buy food, but the time frame to come back is another issue.  Jesus Christ, a miracle worker was not disappointed, intact, He appreciate

Divine Interruption before Intervention

Jeremiah  18:5 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,  18:6 O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel. When the billows of life's storm roll on you as if you are going to fall, your cross seems to be very heavy as you proceed on your pilgrimage, and your boat tends towards capsizing, with no green light in sight, you surely need divine intervention. The disciples were once in a boat terribly rocked by a raging storm, Jesus was there but they didn't know what to do. Glory be to God for Jesus' intervention in calming the storm. When the three Hebrews were expected to be roasted in the fiery furnace, God intervened, when Daniel was expected to be meal to the lions, the faithful God intervened. You also can look around you carefully and give contemporary examples of testimonies of God's faithfulness during the tempest of life. However, before all t

Unholy Miracles

Matthew  7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.  The devil has always being in contender with God right from time immemorial before the creation of man, his downfall became evidence when he wish to raise his throne above that of God His creator, from being the arch angel to the one shove the god Almighty.( Isaiah 14:13) But he was shamefully defeated by the host of God in heaven, he was cast into earth the habitat of man, and ever since, he always come against every plan of God.  Wherever there is the manifestation of the presence of God in the life of man, devil will surely lock around to see how he can decisively penetrate. When God builds a church, the devil builds a chapel next door.  In like manner is the miracles of God performed through those He has given powers to, His devoted  servants,  Miracles are a strong act of faith, there is nothing the devil wants more than to corrupt our faith, Moses was chosen

Understand Divine Principles

Isaiah  55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.  55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Mathematics is one of the subjects dreaded by students. While some claim it is more like magic, it remains one of the simplest courses to those who approach it based on its principles. Following the principles is the begining of solving the most seemingly difficult mathematical problem. Once you approach it critically and consciously, using the laid down principles, methods, concepts and theories, it becomes a no-problem. Life is also generally governed by its own principles as ordained by the heavenly father. The sun, moon, seasons, and times all have thier periods. The way God has instituted the times and seasons remain in their respective periods. However, God can choose to interrupt one or all of these seasons for reasons best and only  known to Him. He is God

The explosive blessings of God

Ephesians  2:7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. It may look like you can never accomplish your dreams, you may have calculated how you will never be able to get out of debt or some certain problem. You have run out of ideas on how to make things work out, but God is saying, you haven't seen my explosive blessings. Sometimes God doesn't always take us through the normal increments, there are times he will increase us little by little, we have to be faithful in all ways of our life. But when it comes to the explosive blessings of God, instead of taking you from level 2 to 3 to 4. God will take you from level 3 to 4 then to 50 to 51 that is an explosive blessing of jehovah Joseph was a witness to this explosive blessing of God, he had trusted God all his life while  he was with his father, even when he was sold out by his brothers to slavery, he never stop believing in God. Yet he found himself

Put your angels to work

Psalms  104:4 Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire: Angels are supernatural beings created by God  ever before man's creations. Only Him knows when He created them. That is why He controls, direct, and dictates to them, since He has all power over them. Throughout the biblical era, we see the ministry of the angels in the life of the saints   they ministered to Abraham, and declared the birth of Isaac. They attended to Jacob, and God brought to pass what He has said to him. (Gen. 18:1-14) They fought for the Israelites and led them in the wilderness under Moses. The sword of Joshua was not enough to destroy the canaanites; God sent the commander of the Army of the Lord (Jos 5: 13-15 ) There are mysteries in the ministry of the angels to the saints. Every Christians has his own personal ministering angels. They are our spiritual soldiers and bodyguards to protect, defend, guide and run errands for us. Unfortunately, many Christians are not aware of this g

Who is praying for you?

Luke  22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. Prayer is an invocation or act that seeks to activate a rapport with an object of worship through deliberate communication, it is a means of a believer's communication to God either to request or appreciate God.  Every believer is expected to cultivate the habit of prayer so as to keep communion with God, prayer strengthens the spirit life and it is a spiritual weapon that makes one  to stand in the day of adversity and against the devil and his host.  Luke  22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.   Jesus specifically prayed that peter be strong. He also prayed for all the twelve on this occasion. His prayer was that thier faith be strong enough to withstand the trials through which they were about to go in the next few days   it was a Prayer that they not be so discouraged that they fall away

Belittle no one

2 Kings  5:4 And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel. Naaman once took a young Israelite girl captive. Naaman himself was the then Syrian warlord, but he had a terrible problem, leprosy. Thank God the young Israelite girl was bold enough to tell him about the unbeatable power of YAHWEH in all respects, including healing. Imagine that you were in the shoes of either Naaman's wife that she actually approached with the good news, or Naaman himself. What would you have done to that slave girl when she came to you like that? Is it not that, honestly, you would have barked at her,  "what an effrontery? Who gave you the audacity to approach me, you bloody slave?" it is likely you would have treated her like the slave she was. Conversely, the woman put the significance of the message over and above the age and status of the young girl. She promptly passed the message to her husband. Naaman also did not look down on the

Guard your Marriage

Matthew  19:9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery. The incident that rocked the family of Mr Adam is serious enough to pull the couple apart. In fact, not too many families today would survive such. It was a real storm. Apart from the loss of fellowship with God, another thing that the incident was designed for was to bring division and dissension into the first family. Thank God, devil failed woefully in that regard. He will continue to fail in our lives, marriages, business, and churches in Jesus Christ name The man held on to his wife and knew her Intimately and that is what true love and companionship can do in a marriage. There is no way marriages won't experience ups and down sometimes, but what makes you think putting away is the best solution to that problem between you and your spouse? God hates divorce and this needs

Recognise your Prophet

Numbers  22:30 And the ass said unto Balaam, Am not I thine ass, upon which thou hast ridden ever since I was thine unto this day? was I ever wont to do so unto thee? And he said, Nay. God speaks to man in diverse ways, His ways are beyond total understanding of man. God speaks regularly and always, but the problem is with man's hearing.  There are several radio stations all over the world that broadcast from time to time, some are even on air 24 hours every day. The fact that one is not hearing the broadcast from a station does not mean the station isn't on air. It is likely one's radio is not on, or the radio is not tuned to the station.  God choose different means to reach man, He speaks audibly to man, like He did with Moses, He uses symbols. He speaks through dreams, visions, prophecies, etc.  He speaks directly to the heart of man when devotedly studies His word (The Bible). Isn't it wonderful that He chose to minister to Balaam through a donkey? That's the un

Learn to Appreciate

1 Corinthians  16:18 For they have refreshed my spirit and yours: therefore acknowledge ye them that are such. Apostle Paul was a very serious evangelist with a sense of urgency in his execution of the business of reconciling men to God. In spite of his goal-getting nature, he really cared about people, and was mindful to appreciate those who had served with him. He occasionally mention their names in most of his letters, the brethren who ran errands for him, and those who provided material and financial support for the work. When men are commended, they want to do more. Learn to appreciate people. When you appreciate your employees, they tend to be more diligent and committed to you. When you are always finding faults with your spouse or children and picking on them, they become stubborn and rebellious A person who always finds fault and weakness but nothing worthy of commendation in others is a tyrant and taskmaster. He will soon run the people around him down, dry and out. Say somet

The years of Torment

Matthew  24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.  24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. The second coming of the Lord will be preceded by serval occurrences that the world has never experienced before,  For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. (Matthew  24:7)  Yet, those are not the worst the world will experience, a more and grater tribulation is coming after the rapture when Christ would have taken up His Saints from this earth.  The antichrist will take over with the whole world having one government, by this, everyone will know the truth but the truth will be powerless to set them free.  Everyone will know truly Christ is the Lord, but His blood will be so powerless to save and to deliver.

life is Vanity

1 Timothy  6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.  Life is the existence of an individual, before the fall, God created the life of man to be unique, beautiful, full of peace, joy, happiness and grace, the life of a man becomes meaningful as God was at the center of him. But after the fall, Satan introduces sin, sin brought about pain, struggle, lust, lack of contentment and death. Life becomes a vapor that soon passes away without a trace of its existence. Ecclesiastes  1:1 The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem.  1:2 Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.  1:3 What profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun? All is vanity to those who labours and acquires riches and fame solely for the purpose of seeking pleasure in this  life. If one's life is simply for pleasure and fame, then he eventually comes to the point in his life where he concludes that

Spiritual Distance

Exodus  20:21 And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was. Moses alone knew what  God's presence felt like, what His voice sounded like, and what His radiant glory looked like. And apparently the people of Israel were happy to leave it that way. They said to moses, 'you tell us what God says.. But don't let God speak directly to us (Exodus 20:19). What were they afraid of, that God might tell them something they didn't want to hear? Hello? When you haven't carried out God's last set of instructions it's hard to get excited about His  next set. John writes : ' we  can be sure that we know him if we obey his commandments. If someone claims, "".. I know God.. "" but doesn't obey God's commandments, that person is a liar and is not living in him. But those who obey God's word truly... Love Him  That is how we know we are living in him. Those who say they live in God should live thei

Accept your Limit

Deuteronomy  2:3 Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward. Do you live overloaded and overwhelmed?, like a driver who has lost his way, instead of stopping to ask for direction you increase your speed until you run out of fuel and end up on the side of the road. We quote the promise in the scripture ; 'I can do all things through Him who gives me strength' (Philippians 4:13),  but God doesn't promise we can do all things we want to do, or all things people expect us to do, or all things others do. God will only give us grace to do what He calls us to do. Prophet Isaiah writes : 'even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young man shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. Few things humble us like failure. God will let us circle the same mountain over and over until the scenery becomes so familiar that we are forced to stop and ask for direction, especially when we know in our heart that we are not where

it is for a purpose

Romans  8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. When you know God's plan for your life, you won't permit things that are contrary to it. You won't be quick to get discouraged when situations bring conflict and disorder. You won't become frustrated or overwhelmed by those things you can't pray away, confess away, or speak away. Because you know that if it's in your life, and it's caused by disobedience, God has allowed it and He wants to use it to produce in you the nature of Jesus "All things" not "some things, work together for good to those who love the Lord. You may say you have not seen a real purpose in it yet, but trust me, if you hold on, you will definitely see it. God is building a foundation under you. He's equipping you to handle a level of success you can't cope with right now. Out of His pressure will come the power to do what He, n

You must be ready

Luke  12:35 Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;  12:36 And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately. Jesus Christ gave a clear instruction to to the disciples on His way to Jerusalem from Galilee. The lesson in this instruction is similar to the one given in the parable of the ten virgins. Jesus' emphasis is that the servants be ready through active service in kingdom business and being at alert with spiritual consciousness will guarantee the success in God and being qualify for the master's return  One must be prepared for the master by maintaining service. Those who have a heart of service will always be watching for the master. They are looking for the coming of the master because they are ready. Our life in this world is a journey, our aboard is the kingdom of God which is  yet to come, but the coming of the Son of God is eminent and e

God can use anyone

Isaiah  45:1 Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut; Our God is the creator of the whole world, both living and none living, man and animals inclusive, every creations are at His command whether they know or love Him or they don't. When He is ready to manifest His power and supremacy, no one can disobey His command.  Cyrus II was the king of Persia who conquered Babylon in 539 BC. He graciously issued a decree that the Hebrew captives living in Babylon could return to their homeland and rebuild the temple that was destroyed.  Amazingly, through the prophet Isaiah God tells the name of his “shepherd” Cyrus well over one-hundred years before his birth, as well as what he would do when Babylon was conquered. Cyrus was not of the  Hebrew tribe. And  most likely, he was devoted to the pantheon of gods favored

The best is yet to come

Isaiah  54:2 Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes; The day you get back to your maker and find out that you were called to make delivery of ten souls, but all you could scarcely deliver is six souls, your cry would be that you didn't work at your best.  Until you picture your future with the eyes of faith saturated with the word of God and believe in it Before you can actualise your full potential in God and in this world In pursuing the brighter future ahead, one must not lose grip, though there may be obstacles and obstructions on the way, yet you must persevere to achieve more. Education is good, biblical knowledge is also good, but these, without a conscious development of the mind, the future will be left to obscurity. Enlarge your domain, increase your influence, and do not retreat on attack, because the best is ahead and the future is promising still. Your achieve

God is Concerned

Colossians  3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; In our world today, there is a general phenomenon that God is less concerned with our outward expressions as much as He does with our heart. This informs why some chose to dress anyhow with impunity, regardless of what harm it does to anybody.  Dangerously, this trend has crept into churches, most especially, the prosperity Gospel proponents with less emphasis on genuinely changed Christian lifestyle.  In like manner, people do what and how they like in the civil service and other related services. So many behave as if they have forgotten, or they don't know that we shall all give account to God.  Eye-service has taken over the attitude of so many workers. They work anyhow when their master is away, but pretend to be committed when the boss is on seat. You cannot hide from God.  Joseph world diligently in the house of an unbeliever and because of his integrity, he earned favour both with God an

Face your Fear

1 Samuel  17:45  Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. Fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain, or harm. There are a lot of things people are afraid of today, Cyberphobia - the fear of computers; Ecclesiophobia - the fear of church; Lunaphobia - the fear of the moon; Chrometophobia - the fear of money, Peladophobia – the fear of baldness, and Phobophobia – the fear of being afraid among others  In 1 Samuel 17:21, the nation of Israel faced and feared a giant. Their fear of Goliath kept them from seeing victory. Most time fear does the same to us – it keeps us from seeing spiritual victory in our lives. We must learn to face fears the same way David did. 1. FACE YOUR ENEMY – don't run from your problems For 40 days the Israelites and Philistines had faced each other. Every day at morn

Walk by faith

2 Corinthians  5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)  Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen, according to the scripture. Simply put, faith is like being led through a tunnel by a stranger while one is blindfolded, the trust you have in the person leading you is the faith we have and we should have in God.  Philosophy of this world is rooted in seeing before believing, but the philosophy of God which is far beyond this world that transcend to the spirit world is rooted in believing before seeing.  Once we accept Christ as our Lord and saviour, we are expected to live everyday  according to God's promises, even though we cannot see them, and not according to the temporary, arbitrary things that our eyes often focus on here on earth. Believers are not  emphatically directed. Guidance by the senses will never take one beyond the limits of the material world. Only through faith can one escape the confines of this world in order to be directed in

Take care of your Name

Proverbs  22:1 A GOOD name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold. Name is very important. It is significantly purposeful. Name, most importantly, sums up the personality of a person.  Benjamin's father had to quickly change the name of the innocent boy from the sorrow-filled, sorrow-expressing one (Benoni) the mother had given him, otherwise, the boy would have grown up to experience what Jabez later faced. God in His wisdom had to carefully choose the name that sums up the very character/personality/essence of His first coming Jesus (The Lord is my saviour). Jews, like several other cultures, Africans inclusive, in the world don't joke with names and naming. Name further conveys the integrity of a person as opined in Prov. 22:1. Good name supersedes influence and affluence. A man's name, good or bad outlives him. The character stuff a man is made and known of in his lifetime tends to live long after his demise. This is what
