What God Requires

Deuteronomy  10:12 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

Getting enlisted or admitted into some organizations means one has satisfied the required standard (e.g Army or any University). Therefore, becoming a people God and enjoying the blessings therefrom means some God-given requirements have been met.

The Israelites who left Egypt had dangerous rebellious tendencies of the carnal nature (Deuteronomy 9:1). Sadly their misdemeanour pushed moses to the walls  yet, Moses intercedes for them.

If God would reckon with our different levels of unrighteousness, we should all have perished by now. Yet, God chose to come for man's total and complete liberation when we least deserved or expected it. (Rom. 5:6)

Just like in the case of these rebellious Israelites, God has graciously chosen to overlook our times of ignorance. His requirements of us so that we won't return to such folly are that we fear the awesome God, walk in His holy ways, love Him, and serve Him wholeheartedly.

And these can only be met when we repent and circumcise our  hearts. These requirements are definitely for our good. How then shall we escape if we neglect this injunctions? (Heb 2:1-4)

The time is now to give God what He sole requires.
