Vengeance

Romans  12:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. The word vengeance is the act of doing something to hurt someone because that person did something  that hurt you, in the  first place. It is to retaliate. Revenge/retaliation is natural thing for man. The Bible teaches that when someone hurts you deeply, instead of giving him what he deserves, forgive and even befriend him (Rom 12:17-21). For a natural man, this is impossible, but a Christian should not seek to get even with someone who has wronged him. You must not seek revenge. Our Lord Jesus Christ taught us not to react to the wrongs done on us in the spirit of hate, but in a way that shows that we are His, and that our values are centered on Christ and His kingdoms. Our actions should be such that it might lead them to accept Christ as their saviour. Are you a Christian? Demonstrate it by acts of forgiveness. Forgiveness breaks the cycle of retaliation, and leads to mutual reconciliat

Jesus always answers

Luke  7:22 Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached. John was perplexed, and sent from the prison to ask Jesus if He was indeed the promised Messiah. Jesus patiently answered the messages. He always answers. Many of our prayers to Him are nixed up with doubt; many of them are filled with complaints. He is never Impatient with us. He never shuts His door against us. It grieves  and pains Him to have us doubt Him. Joseph wept when his brothers sent a message to him, after their father's death, asking him to forgive them, when he had forgiven them years before, and had proved it by several kindness, it broke his heart to think of how they had misjudged him. Yet that is the way many of us do with Jesus. After all the sacrifices He makes on  our behalf and the blessings His love has bestowed on u

Nothing but the Truth

Ephesians  4:25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. Truth has become the most costly commodity in our society today, the Bible warns that what is worth doing at is what doing well. Whatever you have to do, so not do it quickly alone; do it well, and to the glory of God and benefits of others. If you must serve God, do it wholeheartedly. Whatever services you are rendering to people, do it convincingly. To rationalise is to be indifferent and nonchalant towards a just course. Many people rationalise the truth. Instead of calling a spade a spade, many prefer to mellow it down. The evil bedevilling that church and our society today is the problem of bending the truth, calling blue, black. So many Christians are not sincere. But lairs shall have their portion in the lake of fire (Rev 21:8). This can't be removed from God's holy judgment. How many people can place their lives on the line for the Truth today?, man

Godly Attitude

Philippians  4:12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. The way you think and feel about something is your attitude, your natural ability or skill at doing something is your Aptitude, while the height of something or your highest elevation in life is your altitude.  Developing natural ability/skill (Aptitude), without the right attitude, might stop one from reaching one's desired Altitude.  Obtaining the highest degree possible in theology and being highly anointed, but without  the right attitude results in ministerial failure and rejection from God. Your attitude may not only determine your altitude, it can also determine your destination. Absalom might have succeeded Kong David, but his attitude did not only Rob him of the throne but ended up wasting him at every painful and shameful death. Rebekah  portrayed a godly attitude while helping a strang

God is concerned

Colossians  3:22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eye- service, as men-pleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God. Today, there is a general phenomenon that God is less concerned with our put word expressions as much as He does our heart. This informs why some chose to dress anyhow with impunity, regardless of what harm it does to anybody. Dangerously, this trend has crept into churches, most especially, the prosperity Gospel proponents with less emphasis on genuinely changed christian lifestyle. In like manner, people do what and how they like in the civil services and other related services so many behave as if they have forgotten or they don't know that we shall all give account to God. Eye-services has taken over the attitude of so many workers. They work anyhow when their  Boss is away, but pretend to be committed when the Boss is on seat. You cannot hide from God. Be it ministry, personal work, civil service, or work in pr

Recognise your Prophet

Numbers  22:30 And the ass said unto Balaam, Am not I thine ass, upon which thou hast ridden ever since I was thine unto this day? was I ever wont to do so unto thee? And he said, Nay. God speaks to man in diverse ways, His ways are beyond total understanding of man. God speaks regularly and always, but the problem is with man's hearing.  There are several radio stations all over the world that broadcast from time to time, some are even on air 24 hours every day. The fact that one is not hearing the broadcast from a station does not mean the station isn't on air. It is likely one's radio is not on, or the radio is not tuned to the station.  God choose different means to reach man, He speaks audibly to man, like He did with Moses, He uses symbols. He speaks through dreams, visions, prophecies, etc.  He speaks directly to the heart of man when devotedly studies His word (The Bible). Isn't it wonderful that He chose to minister to Balaam through a donkey? That's the un

Be Persistence

Ecclesiastes  11:6 In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good. We live in an instance era, people want things NOW, our generation doesn't really want to take the "seeds", we want the flowers, an overnight success. But beloved, never give up on what you really know you should do, even when your patience seems burnt out. When you are persistence, it is the proof that you have kit been defeated, you have no right to anything you have not pursued, for the proof of desire is in the pursuit. Always know that life holds no greater wealth than that if steadfast commitment. The secret of success is to start from scratch and keep on scratching. People are evaluated by what they finish, not by what they start. Till you end up succeeding physically, and even get to heaven you mustn't quit trying. What good have you started doing and now you have

Holiness is Pathway

Genesis  17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. In our day, we seem to magnify the love of God almost to the exclusion of the fear of Him. Here, the concept of the fear of God refers to a Sense of awe and profound reverence of the driven God. Ponder on what father Abraham said before the heart hen King ; "Because I thought, surely the fear of God is not in this place... Honestly, this is how many so-called christians behave all over the world today, we zoned holiness to be practiced only at a particular place (within a church premises), rather than walking the pathway everywhere. Holiness of life is not a denominational theory, it is the explicit standard of God for us all in Christ Jesus. We live in a godless generation today, but don't be an environmental believer whose faith is feasible only where it is seemly safe. Make holiness your pathway... Your Holine

When it is wise to hide

1 Samuel  20:24 So David hid himself in the field: and when the new moon was come, the king sat him down to eat meat. Is it not foolish and presumptuous fire us to face danger headlong when we can do something either to avert or escape it? David acted wisely according to the text above. It had been very clear to him that his life was no longer safe with King Saul. He had seen clear signs to confirm his fear, David opted to stay away with the support of Jonathan, his friend  and close confident. It might have been too foolish to think that since Gif had chosen him to be king, He would have prevented Saul from killing him, even if he was careless with his one life. He did what was right, ran away and hid. We need to learn from David. God's d promises of protection, guidance, and deliverance are not to make us complacent, negligent, foolish or presumptuous. There are certain things God would not do for us, when we are suppose to avoid danger, we must do so as much as God is giving us

You cannot do all things.

Philippians  4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. This may sound contrary to the popular Christian slogan 'I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength (Phil. 4:13). As true as the statement is, reading the verse put of context never helps Christians who wants to realize thier full potentials. Rather than the material and social prosperity ascribed to the passage, Paul was referring to more of enduring hardships and debilitating conditions without giving up the pursuit of the divine assignment. Many Christians are attempting to do too many things at a time, and ending up being frustrated, unproductive, depressed, sometimes engaging in unwholesome/ungodly acts. Though you are encouraged to be strong in the Lord, yet, you shouldn't wear out yourself trying to do everything. Activity is not accomplishment, it is time to look inwards, identify your strengths and build upon them. A more important aspect is that of meeting the needs of others Re

What God Requires

Deuteronomy  10:12 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, Getting enlisted or admitted into some organizations means one has satisfied the required standard (e.g Army or any University). Therefore, becoming a people God and enjoying the blessings therefrom means some God-given requirements have been met. The Israelites who left Egypt had dangerous rebellious tendencies of the carnal nature (Deuteronomy 9:1). Sadly their misdemeanour pushed moses to the walls  yet, Moses intercedes for them. If God would reckon with our different levels of unrighteousness, we should all have perished by now. Yet, God chose to come for man's total and complete liberation when we least deserved or expected it. (Rom. 5:6) Just like in the case of these rebellious Israelites, God has graciously chosen to overlook our times of ignorance. His

The definition of your own God.

Psalms  18:2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. The  reason  the  Christian  world  is  so  weak and half  to experiencing the God of the old age   is  because  they  think  they  know something  when  they  don't.  Because  they  get involved  in  someone  else's  version  of  God. There   are   many   different   versions   and opinions  about  God. We read the Bible and many Bible characters and how God moved  so well with them, but in the process of inclining our faith with theirs, we feel sometimes disappointed because we did not receive the answers we wanted as seen in the Bible. Little did we know that, each characters of the Bible have relationship with God according to God's will in relation to their destiny. For  instances Abraham know and recognizes God as a FAITHFUL AND COVENANT KEEPING GOD, because after so many years of waiting God fulfi

Unredeemed Vows.

Numbers  30:2 If a man vow a vow unto the LORD, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth. Wow is a covenant made with God. made with God. Very many times when we are desperately under pressure, we commit ourselves to do specific things, if God would grant our our request.  Vowels are good; they show Faithfulness and commitment to the course  we pursue. Yet God who knows the end from the beginning will not go outside His will for us.  When such prayers are answered, they are timely and in line with God's plan for our lives.  Let your zeal be directed by God's wisdom; never be hasty . A man of integrity lives  by his words.  Many make vows that are difficult to redeem. An applicant school just got Assurance of getting the job I recently applied for in a lucrative company coma but he's going to give God his first three months salaries after getting the job as not thought about feed

Don't work against God.

Genesis  11:4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. It has been internally characteristics of of the devil and it's early to work against God's program and Order.  Those who lived after the flood and before the Lord foiled  their coup  and the Divine privilege to have one voice and and one language. God also gave them Wisdom/skill, such that they could devise building such as magnificent Tower.  It would have been of interest to know the language being spoken. There is power in togetherness but it becomes evil when people become over-ambitious to the extent of working against their creator.  God himself confirmed the power of cooperation even if it was a misdirected one god expected them to use this for his his glory, their oneness should enhance their  corporation in doing God's will;  their wisdom/skill should help them do exploit f

The whole duty of Man

Deuteronomy  6:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. We are suppose to offer God our best acts of service, but the gift He desires most is Us. Think of Jesus' last conversation with His friend Peter. Peter was so human: he followed Jesus, learned from Him, served Him, doubted Him, misunderstood Him, praised Him and denied Him. Yet Jesus' final question to His friend was relational: 'Peter, do you love Me?' three times He asked Peter that question. A writer said ' all ethics could be summed up in this :' love God, and do what you will, ' for when you love God you'll want to do what God loves. God created us so that He could be with us, in Eden He came and walked with the man and woman He had made, just to be with them. When He formed the nation of Israel He said,' I will walk among you and be your God... (Leviticus 26:12). Heaven announced the birth of Jesus,'... They shall call

The fall of a Steward

1 Samuel  15:26 And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD hath rejected thee from being king over Israel. Stewardship, is the conducting, supervising, or managing of something. And it usually means, "The careful and responsible management of something that has been entrusted into your care. The Bible's use of the term "steward" is very similar to the dictionary definition. The Old Testament uses a phrase that means, "One who is over a house," just like Joseph was a steward over the household of Potiphar. Each and everyone of us are stewards before God.  Not only has He entrusted each of us with a job to do, but also He has provided us with the necessary abilities and talents. Today many have falling from the stewardship and has been rejected by God.  Saul was a king approved by God as a steward over the children of Israel, but on the long run when God gave a simple instruction to destro

Keep developing Yourself

1 Samuel  16:18 Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the LORD is with him. David didn't suddenly become an expert marksman with a slingshot when Goliath showed up, or a master harpist when King Saul invited him to the Palace. He took the long, slow, disciplined route. David had no idea what his future held, he simply found joy and fulfilment in discovering and developing his gifts. Your greatest obstacle to personal growth is not ignorance; its the illusion of knowledge. Its in believing you have 'arrived'. when that happens you see done growing, which means you're done. Which zone do you live in?, The Challenge zone : 'I attempt to do what I haven't done before', The comfort zone; ' I only do what I already know', Phillips Brooks said, 'Sad is the day for any man whe

Easy to see, difficult to forget

Genesis  3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. After God created the universe, He gave man a clear warning, satan soon came to tempt them. In the cause of the temptation, he chose to attack the spiritual gate of the eyes, He manipulated Eve to look at the tree of Knowledge of good and evil the way she had never looked at it before, such that she saw what she hadn't seen before about the fruit, leading man to captivity. Had she not seen the fruit before?, she must have seen the fruit before, but paying no attention. Then, the tempter came and argued her to look and pay attention to it. So she looked until some conclusions were reached in her heart. Sin hardly committed by chance, fall is progressive. Studies have shown they it is possible to look without seeing, being absentminded a

Three pathways to answered prayers.

Isaiah  59:1 Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: Many times after I preach or during counselling session, people ask a question repeatedly, and the question is 'why has not answered my prayers after all my fasting and praying'. Many are heartbroken and has begin to lose their faith in christ after so many days, months and years of waiting on God. Some even question the breakthrough of their colleagues who didn't pray or do not pray as much they do but always have answers to prayers. If you are in this situation, this message is for you. The following are the three pathways through which God answers prayer and if critically studied, your prayers will be answered. 1. Faith: it means to  belief, firm persuasion, assurance, firm conviction, faithfulness. Faith is confidence in what we hope for and the assurance that the lord is working, even though we cannot see it. Faith knows that no matter what

All that matters

Matthew  6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:  6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. There’s nothing inherently wrong with wealth. God’s the one who generously gives people success with resources and money (Ecclesiastes 5:19).  But when we become more concerned about the gifts rather than the giver, possessions become toxic and pointless (Ecclesiastes 5:10). Obsession with wealth ruins our relationship with God and with other people. God cares more about the condition of our hearts than the condition of our wallets. That’s why He shows us what’s best for us and our possessions: No one can bring material wealth into eternity. Heaven and hell don’t have banks or parking garages. Money and belongings aren’t any good to someone six feet under.  What you have won’t change your circumstances when you die. No amount of possessions gives us a better or worse posi

Tough love

John  5:8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. Misguided sympathy is dangerous, because it enables someone to geek sorry for themselves, yet take no action to change things.  It digs the hole deeper, so thru have less chance of greeting out of it, it also creates a 'leaned helplessness' guaranteeing they will feel even more hopeless.  Sometimes tough love is what's needed. Although jesus had Compassion for hurting people, He never merely felt sorry for them.  Whenever possible He helped them to help themselves. Before He worked on their behalf, He often asked them to do something, and sometimes His instructions seems radical.  For example,... Arise, take up your bed and go... (Mathew 9:6),... Your daughter is dead... Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, 'do not be afraid; only believe. (Mark 5:35-36)... He anointing the eyes of the blind man with clay and said to him... "go, wash in the pool of Siloam". So he went... And came back seeing

The patience of God.

John  9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. Many of us has received the purpose of God for our lives, for marriage,  career, business, ministry, etc, but  for our own selfish desire, we creat our own path, set our own race, and Bank on the word that "He's mercy  will be sufficient at the long run..." Jesus was able to understand and gives the knowledge of time, which a man must work, a time is coming when the strength of man will be too weak to work for God.  Even if God has an everlasting  time of patience, you do not have unlimited years to operate. It would have been to wrestle with the Lord and deny him of our life for a some time before coming back to Him, if our time is stagnant and our years of usefulness is not passive.  Though we thought God exercise long suffering, so it makes us to take decisions of our own life against God's will. We tend to subject our life to the way we want it to be, rath

Eleventh hour Grace.

Matthew  20:14 Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee. Jesus told the story of a framer who hired day labourers: some at 6 am, some at 9, some at 12 noon, some at 3pm and some at 5pm, one hour before quitting time. Amazingly, he paid them all the same wage. When the complaints started flying, the farmer said, 'I wish to give to this last man the same as to you.' Ho, you say nobody pays a day's wage to one-hour workers. God does. Deathbed converts and lifelong saints enter heaven by the same gate. They don't enjoy the same reward, but they are saved by the same grace. A last minute confessor receives the same grace as a lifetime servant? It doesn't seem fair. The workers  in Jesus' story complained too. So the farmer explained the prerogative of ownership: 'am I not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me...' (Mathew 20:15). The thief on the cross proves that when you request grace with your dying bre

He cares also for your physical needs.

Matthew  14:15 And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.  14:16 But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat. Some years back when I was in the higher instruction, I woke that faithful day with no cash, not even a kobo in my bank account, I called my dad for him to send some cash but his reply broke my heart the more, not very unusual like him but I understand the situation at that point in time. So I just prepare for lecture with no hope of getting cash anywhere, but said a word of prayer that God should make a way before the day runs out. my breakfast turn to fasting (a normal thing if you grow up in the mission house... Lol). After the first lecture, I was outside and having a discussion with friends, then a fellow classmate approached me and asked me to shake  his hand, lo and behold, some cash was ha

Do not doubt God.

Genesis  16:10 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude. Sarai gave Hagar to Abram as s surrogate mother, although this was according to the custom of the time, Abraham's action shows a shaking in faith that God would fulfil His promises for them. Sarai took matters into her hands by resigning to date and resolving to give Hagar to Abraham, so that she could raise a son through the slave woman. This little shake of faith and staggering in the face of the trying situation came with serious problems, most of which are still present with us in the world today. Such things invariably happens when we take over the Control of  our lives from God, trying to make His promise come true through means outside His will. Sometimes when we asked God for something and the answer isn't coming, swiftly, the temptation is there to take matters into our hands and interfere with God's plan. As you go your w
