The word of God won't be prolonged anymore

Ezekiel  12:28 Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; There shall none of my words be prolonged any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, saith the Lord GOD.

God's word is eternal. It does not change based on human opinions, trends, or circumstances. The delay in judgment or the fulfillment of His promises does not mean that God has forgotten or that He is unable to act.

Prophet Isaiah declared, “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever” (Isaiah 40:8). God’s promises are as firm today as when He first spoke them.

In Ezekiel’s day, the people of Israel had started to doubt whether the warnings of God would come to pass. They had seen prophets come and go, and the destruction they had been warned about hadn’t yet arrived.

But just because God was patient didn’t mean His word would fail. When the time came, His word would come to pass just as He had said. In the same way, every promise and every warning in the Bible is certain. God will not delay forever.

God's Patience Should Not Be Mistaken for Inaction

Throughout Scripture, we see that God often gives people time to repent before He brings judgment. He is gracious, merciful, and slow to anger (Psalm 103:8). The delay of judgment is not a sign of God's inaction or inability but of His desire for people to turn back to Him.

In 2 Peter 3:9, we read, “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” But in that same chapter, Peter warns that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night, when no one expects it. God's patience has a purpose, but it will not last indefinitely.

For the people of Ezekiel’s time, the delay in God’s judgment was an opportunity for repentance, yet many chose to ignore it. For us, the delay in Christ's return is an opportunity to align ourselves with His will. But we must not become complacent, thinking we have all the time in the world. The word of God will not be prolonged anymore.

Furthermore, we know that God’s Word of Judgment and Promise Will Be Fulfilled

The passage in Ezekiel speaks of both warning and promise. For the rebellious house of Israel, it was a word of judgment, judgment would no longer be delayed. For those who remained faithful to God, however, it was a word of promise, their deliverance was near.

God's word has two edges: one side brings judgment to those who continue in sin, and the other brings life and hope to those who trust in Him. Just as God's warnings will come to pass, so will His promises.

We must understand that whether God’s word is one of judgment or one of blessing, it will be fulfilled. Today, we stand in a time of grace, but we must not mistake this grace as an excuse to continue in disobedience. For those who walk with the Lord, this is a time to trust in His promises. His word will not be delayed any longer—it will be fulfilled.

In conclusion, the time for fulfillment of God's word  is near. Our response is crucial. Let us live with the urgency that this word demands, knowing that God's timing is perfect and His word is certain. His word will not be delayed forever. Now is the time to align our hearts with His will, to repent, and to hold fast to His promises.

God bless you.
