The Fullness of Christ

Ephesians  4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:

Apostle  Paul says that Christ gave us the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers to build up the body of Christ until we attain the “fullness of Christ.” Scripture uses the word “fullness” to describe a sense of completeness. So the “fullness of Christ” represents growth into the maturity and wholeness of Christ.

Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ

In talking about the church (the body of Christ), Paul points out that Jesus has equipped people with unique gifts to help the church. And when each of them uses their talents to build up the church, the whole church grows to look more like the One the church represents.

Attaining this fullness of Christ is growing to completion so that we corporately look like Jesus. As much as He have the necessary gifts fro growth, and edification of the church, His character just still be the foundation for these gifts, else, the church will either stagnant, dead or lukewarm.

Jesus is our role model through whom  we navigate this world, if we must measure up  to His fullness, then we must be ready to exhibit  His very character , behaviour and power

the characters of Christ by which we must  attain His fullness includes

 Humble service (John 13:1-5)
Jesus Christ exhibited a servant leader trait by washing the feet of His disciples, as powerful as he is, he humbled himself to the level that he can't be easily identified among His disciples. If we desire to live to the fullness of Christ, then we must kill the spirit of pride that lives in our heart.

Holiness
1 Peter  1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;  1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
Christ is holy just as God is holy, this is one of the major reason He was made available to be sacrificial lamb for the remission of our sin. If then we must reunite with God the Father, then we must do away with sin and become holy in all we do.

Righteousness
1 John  3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
Righteousness is the quality of being morally right or justifiable, everything Christ said before and after his departure are truth and can be justified by the spirit, as he is righteous so also He desires everyone who believes in Him to be righteous without any element of sin.

 Love
Ephesians  5:1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;  5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour.

It was out of God's love that Christ gave up himself as  a sacrifice for the redemption of our sin, that, no matter the gravity of our sin, the love of Christ is enough to save and to deliver us from its bondage. This same love  He commands us to express to everyone. And in this love we have forgiveness, compassion, kindness and generosity

All we would ever become is enshrined in the above listed character of Christ, if we desire to come to His fullness.

The powers we may poses, the gifts of the spirit we may poses results to nothing if the character of Christ whom has called us is not evident in us.

Long for the Fullness of Christ, desire it everyday. It is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

God bless you.
