The end is near already
1 Peter 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
Christ our saviour had ascended to heaven many years ago, with a promise of coming back to rapture the saint who would remain in the world. His second coming will put an end to this timed world and the begining of eternity
As much as He promised of coming back, no one knows the day or the hour of his coming, not even the angels in heaven, except God the Father himself.
In a way to keep the believers prepared and ready for the day of the Lord, there will be signs of the end of days. This will help believers to keep themselves in checked so as not be found unprepared.
Christ preached about the signs of the end of time to His disciples in Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Apostle Paul also re-emphasize this in his second letter to Timothy... 2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
The truth is, all these has began to happen in our world today, many are lovers of themselves and money, there are many who are covetous, boastful and proud, many children born in this age are disobedient to their parents, seeking to have what it takes to get money and live a wayward life.
Seems as it may, God is calling believers to attention to be sober and prayerful, to continually live in godliness and holiness, continual meditation in the scripture and daily expectant of our lord Jesus Christ.
Even if the end of time does not appear now, our life and time on earth can end now. But what is your hope of reigning with Christ on the last day?
The joy of seeing him face to face should keep you in check to live a holy and godly life while still in this world.
Check your life, the trouble in this world is enough to enjoy in eternity, but a life without Christ will suffer more in eternity. Live your life according to the will and purpose of God made available in Christ today.
