Do all things without grumbling
Philippians 2:14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
Grumbling is the action or fact of complaining in a bad-tempered way, maybe we are not happy in our job. Maybe we are not happy with our marriage. Maybe we are not happy about our family.
Maybe we are not happy with where we live. Maybe we are not happy with how much money we make or how many possessions we have. But listen to what the apostle Paul says. “Do all things without grumbling or disputing.” That is a straight forward command. Everything we do must be done without complaining.
Grumbling is complaining. It is probably one of most tolerated sin by Christians. In fact, many of us do not even think of it as sinful because so many people do it. But it is directly disobeying God when we grumble.
When we grumble, we are being like the children of Israel when Moses led them into the wilderness out of Egypt. God judged them severely for their grumbling and complaining. 1 Corinthians 10:9-11 says 9 We must not put Christ to the test, as some of them did and were destroyed by serpents, 10 nor grumble, as some of them did and were destroyed by the Destroyer. 11 Now these things happened to them as an example, but they were written down for our instruction, on whom the end of the ages has come.”
James 5:9 says, “Do not grumble against one another, brothers, so that you may not be judged. Behold the Judge is standing at the door.” God is very serious about grumbling, and we should be too.
We need to fight this sin with God’s help. If you are not saved, this is one thing that should drive you to put your trust in Christ and be saved, because you cannot stop grumbling and complaining without salvation and without the Holy Spirit.
Grumbling makes one doubt the power and grace of God over one's life. It most time limits the manifestation of God's moves in our life. The Israelite grumbled in the wilderness, they could not see the promise land.
Whatever instruction God has given you, do all without grumbling, is it giving, exhibition of the gift of the Holy spirit, is it the works in the vineyard of God?, do all without grumbling, else, your blessings will be withheld.
God bless you.
