The Secret place of God.
Psalms 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
This Psalm of adoration brings together a Prayer and expression of trust in the Lord. It reveals a place in God (A secret place)
A secret place would be a place as a cave in which one would hide from his enemy.
The secret place of God is actually is not only limited to a place of refuge, where one hides from enemy, but also a place where depths of information, knowledge and wisdom of God are kept
Christ told the disciples in John 15:15
[15]I no longer call you slaves, for a master doesn’t confide in his slaves; now you are my friends, proved by the fact that I have told you everything the Father told me.
Meaning that, there are secrets about God which are not reserved for babies in Christ, but for the adults who has grown up in words and walk with God.
The secret place can also be a zone where you enter and immediately begin to interact with God at a deeper and more intimate level where his thoughts and intents become
almost physical.
The requirements to enter the secret place.
1. Great Faith.
The very first requirement to enter the secret place of God is to have a great faith in Him... This is not the common faith of salvation received that we are all saved... But a deeper sense of faith that defiled man's understanding.
Abraham developed a great faith in his walk with God, someone who he had never seen.
God told him to leave his fathers land and go to a place where He will show him. Abraham didn't object, he act according to the words of God... How foolish could that be? To resign from your Jon and begin to travel to a place you do not know, even without a map of direction... That was great faith.
He got into the secret place, and God said in Genesis "18:17 And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;"
With faith, it was difficult for God to hide His plans on Sodom and Gomarah away from Abraham. When you are in the secret place of God, it will be difficult for God to hide his plans away from you, because He will always reveal what is about to happen.
2. Obedience.
Those that will enter the secret place of God are those that will totally obey God's words without doubt or complain...
Obedience to God is hearing God's word and acting accordingly
Even though His instructions might be foolish in man's understanding, but they are wisdom greater than the knowledge of man.
Exodus 19:5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
The verse above reveals the mind of God on those that will enter His secret place as a treasure, this is an automatic ticket for anyone who will obey God fully and keeps His covenant.
What are the benefits of the secret place of God.
1. Mysteries of God are revealed in the secret place.
Moses was with the Lord in the secret place, He received the commandments of God for the people, He was the only one whom God reveals the secret of creation to...
Many great ministers of God today has been to the secret place, they manifest with words, signs and wonders, deliverance etc. You may marvel where they got their powers and wisdom from... It was from the secret place.
2. Its a place of refuge and fortress.
Psalms 91:2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
A refuge is a shelter or protection from danger, trouble, while a fortress is a fortified place : stronghold designed to repel or attack the enemy.
Imagine being in the secret place of God, not only will you find rest and safety but also will be a place God fights for you when you are holding your peace.
It's a place no evil will come to you in whatever forms it may be, either in forms of pestilence, death, famine, war etc... You are sure of safety.
The secret place of God is the most safest place to be as a child of God, you will never be void of first hand information from God and safety.
Though distractions , discouragements and disappointments will come to obstruct the path to the secret place. What is required of us to enter God’s secret place is to follow the directions found in Hebrews 3:1 and Hebrews 12:3. Those scriptures tell us to “consider” Jesus.
When we take our eyes off ourselves and the situations we are facing and focus only on Jesus, the path to the secret place – the place of rest – always becomes crystal clear
