All that Matters
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
From cradle to adulthood, even as we grow older we are left with a serious question of life, this question becomes our struggle each day and defines our purpose in this world.
What matter most?, many would choose financial security, others good health, others education, others influence while some others power, but do they really matter?
The disciples were not left behind in the confusion of choosing what really matters over the less important so as to gain all..
Jesus gave the teaching from the preceding verse of the book of mathew chapter 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
Jesus is teaching here, most of the things that often matters to man are what to eat, what to drink, what to wear or shelter, even after acquiring these things, some went ahead to seek for power, influence etc... Not that they are not important, but they all end in this world..
Our life has a time frame, and whatever we achieve in this world ends with this world, why then should we struggle for what shall end and none shall follow us to the world unknown after death or in the pursuit we loose the greatest thing?
In verse 33, Jesus presented all that should matters to man, what should be our quest everyday, what we should struggle for, these will not only benefit us here on earth but also secure our place with the father after death.
Man only focus on the physical forgetting the spiritual, but Jesus is presenting the spiritual which is capable of handling the physical needs of our life... "and all other things shall be added"
You may focus on the physical things of this world, and loose the spiritual heritage in God, but when you seek first the spiritual things of God, you gain both the spiritual and the physical.
In order to seek first the kingdom of God, we must make God the King of our emotions. He must rule and reign over them, rather than allowing our emotions to rule and reign our lives.
The kingdom of God will not only give us eternal hope of glory, but also give us peace, rest, joy and divine providence to live our life daily
Our life here on earth will be secured in Him, and He takes responsibility of whatever we may have need... Finances, health, education, power, influence etc.
What matters to you today...
All that matters is the kingdom of God, if you seek other things instead, you will loose the greater thing (kingdom of God), but if you seek first the kingdom, you will eventually gain all.
Give your life and plans to Him and let Him handle it. Your thoughts and actions should be towards pleasing God,
Let all that matters to you today be Christ and the Kingdom of God, don't wait till tomorrow...
If you die today, all your pursuit ends... But do you have hope of a home with God?
Think about it.
God bless you.
