All that Matters

Matthew  6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. From cradle to adulthood, even as we grow older we are left with a serious question of life, this question becomes our struggle each day and defines our purpose in this world.  What matter most?, many would choose financial security, others good health, others education, others influence while some others power, but do they really matter?  The disciples were not left behind in the confusion of choosing what really matters over the less important so as to gain all..  Jesus gave the teaching from the preceding verse of the book of mathew chapter  6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?  6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. Jesus is teaching here,  most of the things that often matters to man are what

The Secret place of God.

Psalms  91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. This Psalm of adoration brings together a Prayer and expression of trust in the Lord. It reveals a place in God (A secret place)  A secret place would be a place as a cave in which one would hide from his enemy. The secret place of God is actually is not only limited to a place of refuge, where one hides from enemy, but also a place where depths of information, knowledge and wisdom of God are kept  Christ told the disciples in John 15:15 [15]I no longer call you slaves, for a master doesn’t confide in his slaves; now you are my friends, proved by the fact that I have told you everything the Father told me. Meaning that, there are secrets about God which are not reserved for babies in Christ, but for the adults who has grown up in words and walk with God.  The secret place can also  be a zone where you enter and immediately begin to interact with God at a deeper and more inti

A Grateful Heart

1 Thessalonians  5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Our God is sovereign and does things according to His will and plans in our lives and everything that associate with us as humans. In whatever thing we may go through in life, God only demands one thing from us, and that is for our hearts to be grateful to Him. A grateful heart is when someone has experience the significance of the love and potentiality of God... A heart that shows a deeper appreciation for life even amidst difficulties. Whose heart is grateful? 1. A heart that has hope in God and is thankful. Hope in God is a feeling of expectations, desires and trust for something yet not received... There is one thing to hope and there is another to be thankful, but a grateful heart is a heart that hopes in God and is thankful. Many only hope in grumbling, though they were in expectations of the promise of God for their life, but without thanksgiving. Psalms  43:5 W

Don't waste God's Resources

Matthew  25:24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:  25:25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. The Bible text is an exposition of one of the popular parable of Christ about a master who gave talents/gifts/resources to his servants in a bid to trade with it and have more profit. While others traded theirs, one of the servant went and hid his, claiming the master is a wicked person who wants to reap where he never sowed... We all know the end of the story. Consider this. 1. Each and everyone of us represent the servants who God has given talents/gifts/resources at salvation to trade with, many were given greater measures than the other, according to what our strength can carry... But everyone lacks none... 2. Each of this talents/gifts/resources has a time frame through which they must

He bears our burden daily

Psalms 68:19 What a glorious Lord! He who daily bears our burdens also gives us our salvation. The Bible says redeem all days for all days are evil.. This is an understanding that each day is full of different trouble and evil to battle with.  The devil has segmented each day with different anomalies, events of weeping, heartbreak, failure, fruitlessness, pain, fear hunger, mourning etc  yesterday you battle with a sad moment, today comes with something different entirely, you are even more afraid of what tomorrow might bring The summation of these evils make some people depressed and even makes them think of suicide Even as believers we are not exempted from these experiences because we live in this world and we are enshrined with its system. But we have an advocate, a burden bearer, an helper, who is ever ready to bear our burden daily, and gives us salvation on Every situation we can ever find ourselves. God has not taken a leave from office one day, He's never tired of helping

Keep your fire burning

Leviticus  6:13 The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out. The children of Israel had just come out of slavery, after several years of suffering and pain. With a mighty hand, miracles and wonders He did save them from their slave masters.  Upon Exodus, God demanded service from them, a means for proper communication and interaction between Him and them and their generations to come  God choses the levite to assume the role of priests who will intercede for people and be God's mouth piece unto the people of Israel..  God commanded there should be a lamp in the temple, a lamp that will continue to burn, a lamp that the priest must refill its oil daily.  These does not actually represent God, but the presence of God in the temple. Even if the current priest is dying, God will immediately raise another who will continue to keep the fire burning.  After the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, we all become priest of God who has boldness to walk up

You can't hid it from God.

2 Kings 5:26 But Elisha said, “Wasn't I there in spirit when the man got out of his chariot to meet you? This is no time to accept money and clothes, olive groves and vineyards, sheep and cattle, or servants! Elisha was a prophet in the land of Israel, full of power and grace of God and mightily used for miracles and wonders among God's people.. God had just used him to heal a soldier with leprosy, Naaman had just been healed from a shameful body disorder..and in appreciation he came back with offerings and gift. Elisha, by the spirit of God rejected the gifts and asked Naman return to his home... But Gahazi, Elisha's servant could not take his eyes away from the tempting, wonderful yet "deadly" gifts brought by Naaman. He went ahead, lied against his master in a bid to convince Naaman, and of course he succeeded, got portions of the gift and came back to hid it. But his master said...  “Where have you been?”“Oh, nowhere, sir,” he answered. (.v25) [26]But Elisha s

A Present Help in Need

Psalms  46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. This world has been full of trouble in one way or the other the moment Satan was casted into it... Ever since, man has been faced with several difficulties and calamities coming in different phases But the God we serve is declared as our refuge, and strength, even our present help in trouble. Our God is our present help, our instant help, our immediate help in trouble... Who whenever we run to, we will never be disappointed. Sometimes whenever we are in trouble, we think God has abandoned us, or has forsaken us with our problem, and we tend to loose hope and faith of being redeemed and saved from such situations... But yet, God himself is in the middle of the storm with us, His spirit is with us, for He has promised He will not leave us nor forsake us. Many who cried unto God for help in the past, were never disappointed, they received what they asked for according to His grace . In 2 Kings 4:1-38, "

Holy Spirit Baptism

Matthew  3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: The story of our salvation started with a decision, a thought of Repentance and accepting Christ as our Lord and personal Saviour We confess our sins, and choose to follow the one through God and living  a godly and righteous life afterward. We are baptised by water to signify our death to sin  and resurrection to life in Christ Jesus, which portrays a new life and new hope of glory. But sadly, Many only fainted during water baptism... They didn't die with Christ, thus makes their baptism void and invalid. We are truly baptised with water, but yet we go back to sin. The sins we claimed to have confessed and renounced now finds  it's way back into our lives and reign over us We refuse to grow and attain the level of spirituality God wants us to attain, just because we are

His promises will come to pass

Joshua 21:45 Every good thing the Lord had promised them came true. God's promises is the declaration or assurance which God has given in his word of bestowing blessings on his people. Has the Lord made promise unto you before?, has He declared He will do something for you or your family through visions, dreams and words from the mouth of His prophets? Has anyone Been delayed?, have you been waiting and it seems they will.never come to pass?, have you lost hope and given up on them? Today I want to encourage you,  that God's promises always come to  pass and His promises concerning your life will come to pass also God promised Abram a seed that will even the  seed will eventually becomes a nation... He never failed, He fulfilled His promise made to him...  Genesis  21:1 And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken.  21:2 For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. In same

Thanksgiving

1 Thessalonians 5:18 No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. Thanksgiving is the expression of gratitude, the act of giving thanks; grateful acknowledgment of benefits or favours, especially to God, Jayson D Bradley wrote    “Would you know who is the greatest saint in the world? It is not he who prays most or fasts most; it is not he who gives most alms or is most eminent for temperance, chastity, or justice; but it is he who is always thankful to God," Apostle Paul charges the people of Thessalonians to understand the Will of God for those who belong to Christ The will of God is for everyone to be thankful for everything in all situations, wether it be good or bad, in sickness and in health, in riches and in famine... Whatsoever situation we find ourselves we should always be thankful. What should we be thankful for? We are to be thankful for His love...  "John  3:16 For God so loved the world, that he ga

The ignorance of the person of Christ.

John  4:10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. After the ministration of our Lord Jesus Christ in Judea, He decided to travel to Galilee, but He must pass through Samaria, The Lord sat at the well at around sixth hour after being wearied with the journey, a woman from samaria came by to draw water from the well, but she new not who the Christ was. John 4:1-13 speaks the whole story. In like manner many of us are ignorant of the person of Christ we claim to believe and have accepted as our Lord and personal Saviour Ignorance is the condition of being uninformed or uneducated, lack of knowledge or information about something or soomeone. Many live their lives on proxy, believing Christ through the testimony of others, whereas they themselves have not had an encounter with Christ Himself. And when they meet themselves in an ug

Love your Enemy

Matthew  5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; Once again Christ is teaching the disciples and everyone with him on the character of being godly, He commands that we love our enemy, bless those that curse us, do good to those that hate us and even pray for them... What a great and difficult task one can ever do... But this is the command of Christ Who is an enemy? A foe; an adversary. Someone who hates another and wishes him injury, or attempts to do him injury to gratify his own malice or ill will. Haven't know this, Jesus still commands we love them, even if they try to kill us, we should still love them, even if they try to deform our character with lies and stories that do not exist.. What a difficult but possible command Christ commands us to love our enemies because 1. For God loved the whole world, you, and your enemies inclusive... "Joh

Fear not, God is in control

Isaiah  41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Our life in Christ and in this world shall not but include moments of disappointment, delay, tribulations, anxiety, famine among others...  Each of these moments are caused by either of the following  1. GOD wants to refine us to a better us... No gold will ever be satisfied if placed into fire for refining, the process becomes terrible and life taking, but at the end when the impurities are removed, it becomes a treasure and an asset worthy of display.  In like manner God refine our life through certain moments, you do not understand but God himself is the one in-charge as the great goldsmiths of our life.  Those moments can make you loose opportunities you think is the best for your life, meanwhile God is preparing you for a better one  Those moment can make you loose some trusted friends wh

True Repentance

Acts  3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; Repentance is a summons to a personal, absolute and ultimate unconditional surrender to God as Sovereign. Some times may include  sorrow and regret, and it is a process of making a complete change of direction (180° turn) toward God. Our God is so loving and gracious, holy in act and righteous in deeds... As a means for us to enjoy His benefits and attain our rightful place in Him we must repent from our act of sin, and reunite with Him. There are three  stages of True Repentance 1. The act of being remorseful of what you have done, the consciousness of accepting you are wrong and the willingness to surrender. Adam and Eve were the first being to sin against God, after sinning, they feel remorseful, they know they were wrong and hid their faces from God who is holy... (Genesis 3:8) When David sinned against God by taking anoth

You are an abomination unto God

Deuteronomy  25:16 For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the LORD thy God. Our God is a just and perfect being, blameless, holy and righteous in acts and deeds... He commands us to worship, serve and have reverence for Him, in a bid to  continually strengthen our relationship with Him till Christ comes to take us home to be with Him forever. Nevertheless, there are many things that we have began to do, both in His presence and among our fellow humans which are abomination before Him. The sacrifices of praise, thanksgiving, worship, prayers, tithes and offerings, if they are brought from a wicked act or from a wicked means are abominations before God. They remain unaccepted  and retards the presence of God. "The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight. (Proverbs  15:8)" Are you the one that initiate evil thoughts against another person?, you are the one that always th

Work when you should.

Exodus  34:21 Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest God was the first person to ever work, he created the heavens, the earth, and even man for good six days and in the seventh day He rested After the creation of man, even after God had provided everything man needed in the garden, God still command man to till the land and keep it...  "And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. (Genesis 2:15) Jesus christ didn't come first, for man to be wealthy or rich, He came for our salvation and reunion back to God contrary to many who tarry in places of prayer, praying for blessings and wealth and spending little time on work or even stay idle God has created systems in this world that manages the channels through which we can be blessed, and that is based on our work, business etc. Man must work in other to live above poverty and hunger, " In all labour ther

Circumstances that bring salvation

Acts  16:29 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,  16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? It was a time the truth of the word of God should be upheld,  a time when the Gospel of Christ was preached raw and direct, apostle Paul was just arrested and take to prison..  He was not arrested for murder or  for breaking the law of the land, but was arrested for preaching the good news, for Healing the sick, and for raising the dead.  He was not bothered about the inconveniences that surrounds his arrest, he was not ashamed to be handcuffed and lead to prison like someone guilty of a crime..  But in all these, he believed that God is in control, and it is another medium for a new soul to be worn for Christ.  At night, the foundation of the prison was shaken and their bonds were let loose, fear came upon the jailer and was about to kill himself, but Apostle Paul set out to him, and salvation found him

The wickedness of God's people

2 Chronicles  7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. King Solomon completed building the house of God, and his own Palace, people rejoice and they gave glory to God, at night God appeared to him in a vision saying... " I have chosen this temple to be my house, and I shall dwell therein, but if my people that are called by my name can humble themselves, pray, seek my false and turn from their wicked ways, then I will heal their land" God was not moved by the beauty and magnificent structure of the temple built for Him, but He was concerned about the people's heart towards Him. "If people who are called by God's name", if Christians, if believers, if those that identified themselves with Christ, if those that worshipped God through Jesus Christ can humble themselve, pray and seek the
