Loving God exceptionally
Deuteronomy 6:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. 6:6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 6:7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
The heart is the seat of our emotions, desires, and will. When God calls us to love Him with all our heart, He is asking for our deepest affections and ultimate loyalty. This an all-encompassing love that prioritizes God above all else.
To love God with all our heart means that our desires, decisions, and emotions are aligned with His will. It is about placing God at the center of our lives, where every other love, whether it be for family, friends, or possessions is secondary. This kind of love transforms our priorities and shapes our identity as followers of Christ.
Also, we are called to love God with all of our soul. The soul represents the entirety of our being, the essence of who we are. To love God with all our soul means that our very existence is dedicated to Him. This is not just about what we do, but about who we are at our best. It is about being deeply rooted in God, so that every aspect of our lives reflects His character and glory.
Loving God with all our soul calls us to live with a sense of purpose and passion for Him. It involves a commitment to spiritual growth, seeking to know God more intimately through prayer, worship, and studying His Word. It is a love that seeks to glorify God in every action, thought, and intention.
To love God exceptionally means that our faith is not just a private affair but a public witness. It is a love that transforms our conversations, influences our decisions, and guides our interactions.
When we love God exceptionally, all other things becomes less impotent, God will be at the forefront of our life and being, we literarily surrender our whole totality to God's will and direction. This is the true core of being a follow of Christ and a believe of God.
In conclusion, let us examine our own lives and ask ourselves if we are truly loving God exceptionally, with all our heart, soul, and strength. This is the kind of love that God desires and deserves. It is a love that transforms us, sets us apart, and draws others to Him.
