Calling unto God at all times

Jeremiah  33:2 Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is his name;  33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.  33:4 For thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are thrown down by the mounts, and by the sword;

We receive an invitation from God to call him, The God who invites us to call upon Him is none other than the One who made the earth, who formed and established it. This is not a distant deity or a passive force.

This is the living God, the Creator and Sustainer of all things. Jeremiah speaks these words at a time when Judah is under siege, their cities and homes torn down to defend against enemy forces. Yet, in this time of desperation, God reveals His unchanging nature. He is still in control, He is still powerful, and He is still attentive.

When God says, "Call to Me," it’s an invitation to approach the very source of life and power. It's not just a call for emergencies but for all circumstances. Whether we are in times of joy, sorrow, confusion, or uncertainty, God desires to hear from us. He is available and accessible, and He is not weary of our cries. God is a loving Father who is ready to answer, guide, and sustain us in every situation.

And when we call, God gave us a definite assurance "I will answer you." This is not a vague hope or an uncertain possibility. It is a definite assurance from the Almighty God. When we call to Him, we are not casting our words into a void. We are speaking to the One who hears and responds.

The challenge, however, is to trust that His answers may not always come in the way we expect. Sometimes, God’s answers are immediate and clear, while at other times, they require patience and faith. But the promise remains: He *will* answer. It may be through a still, small voice. It may be through Scripture, circumstances, or even through others. But rest assured, God will respond.

In times of need, we are often tempted to look for answers from sources other than God. We might rely on our own wisdom, the opinions of others, or even worldly solutions.

Yet God’s invitation stands: Call to Me first. Let Me be the One you turn to. His promise is that He will show us "great and hidden things that we have not known." God’s answers are often beyond what we can imagine, revealing insights and wisdom we never thought possible.

As a believer, our calling unto God should not be seasonal. It should not be reserved for moments of crisis alone. God desires that we develop a consistent habit of prayer, where calling upon Him becomes our first response, not our last resort. This requires cultivating a deep and abiding relationship with Him, one where we are constantly aware of His presence in our lives.

When Jeremiah delivered this message to the people of Judah, they were facing destruction. Their homes were in ruins, and their future seemed bleak. Yet, God still urged them to call out to Him.

The lesson for us is clear: no matter how dire our circumstances, we are never beyond the reach of God’s help and guidance. Even in the most difficult times, God is ready to answer and reveal His plans for our lives.

Finally, we must acknowledge that calling unto God is an act of trust. It is a recognition of our dependence on Him and an acknowledgment of His sovereignty over our lives.

When God says, "I will show you great and hidden things," He is reminding us that He knows far more than we do. His plans are greater, His ways are higher, and His wisdom is perfect.

In conclusion, God has not changed. He is still the Creator, still the Sustainer, and still the One who answers when we call. Let us not wait for crisis to drive us to our knees. Let us be people who call upon God at all times, when we are in need and when we are content, when we are in sorrow and when we are rejoicing.

God bless you.
