Don't live like fools

Ephesians  5:15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,  5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

To walk circumspectly means to walk carefully, thoughtfully, and with great awareness. It is to live with intention and purpose, not allowing ourselves to drift aimlessly through life.

Many are times people fall into the trap of living carelessly, without considering the consequences of their actions. They go through life on autopilot, making decisions based on convenience, emotion, or the opinions of others rather than seeking God’s wisdom. This is the way of the fool.

But the wise person walks with their eyes open, aware of the spiritual dangers around them. They are attentive to the leading of the Holy Spirit, carefully choosing their steps to avoid the snares of the enemy. They understand that every decision, no matter how small, has the potential to bring them closer to God or further away from Him.

In the Bible, a fool is not necessarily someone who lacks intelligence, but rather someone who lives without regard for God. The fool says in his heart, “There is no God” (Psalm 14:1). He lives as though God does not exist, following his own desires and whims.

The wise, on the other hand, fear the Lord and seek His guidance in all things. They understand that true wisdom begins with reverence for God and a desire to live according to His will. Proverbs 9:10 reminds us that “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”

To live as wise people, we must continually seek God’s wisdom through prayer, study of His Word, and fellowship with other believers. We must align our lives with His truth, allowing His Word to be the lamp unto our feet and the light unto our path (Psalm 119:105).

Furthermore, one of the evidence of being wise of to redeem the time, for the days are evil. To redeem the time means to make the most of every opportunity, to use our time wisely for God’s purposes. It is a call to be good stewards of the time that God has entrusted to us.

The days in which we live are indeed evil, filled with sin, corruption, and the schemes of the enemy. Time is short, and we do not know how many days we have left on this earth. Therefore, we cannot afford to waste our time on things that do not matter in eternity.

Instead, we should invest our time in the things of God—serving others, sharing the gospel, growing in our relationship with Christ, and building His Kingdom. Every moment we have is a gift from God, and we must use it wisely.

In conclusion, Let us not live like fools, but as wise people, walking carefully and redeeming the time. The world is watching, and God has called us to be His light in the darkness. May we live in such a way that others see Christ in us, and may our lives bring glory to His name.

God bless you.
