it's of the Lord's Mercy

Lamentations  3:22 It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

It was a time of deep sorrow and suffering, a time when the Israelite were taken captive and Jerusalem became desolate. The words of Jeremiah showcase  a raw and honest portrayal of human pain.

Yet, in the moment of this  tears and anguish, there is a powerful declaration of hope: "It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not."

The Scriptural text above serves as a reminder that When we feel overwhelmed, lost, or on the brink of despair, it is the mercy of the Lord that holds us, that keeps us from being consumed by the trials of this world.

This  Mercy is more than just a feeling or an act of kindness. It is an essential part of God's character.  God's mercy is not dependent on our actions or our worthiness. It is not something we earn, but something that flows freely from His nature.

"It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed."  To be consumed is to be completely destroyed or overwhelmed. In our lives, we face many things that threaten to consume us—sickness, grief, financial troubles, broken relationships, and the weight of our own sins.

But the scripture tells us that despite these challenges, we are not consumed. Why? Because God's mercies are new every morning. Each day, God gives us the strength to face our trials, to endure our hardships, and to overcome our struggles. We may feel pressed on every side, but we are not crushed; we may be perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed (2 Corinthians 4:8-9).

This is the power of God's mercy. It shields us, protects us, and sustains us, even when we feel like we have nothing left. His mercy is our refuge in the storm, our anchor in the midst of life's tempests.

And finally we are reminded that, God's compassion never fails. His compassion is the driving force behind His mercy. Compassion is that deep, heartfelt love that God has for each of us. It is the love that moved Him to send His only Son to die for our sins. It is the love that sees our brokenness and responds with grace and healing.

God's compassions never fail. Unlike human love, which can be fickle and conditional, God's love is unwavering. It does not grow weary, it does not give up, and it does not abandon us. Even when we stray, even when we falter, God's compassion reaches out to us, ready to lift us up and restore us.

So, how do we respond to this incredible mercy? First, we must acknowledge our need for it. Second, we must live in gratitude. Every day that we wake up is a testimony to God's mercy. And finally, we are called to extend that same mercy to others.

In conclusion, It is God's mercy that keeps us from being consumed, His compassion that never fails us. In our darkest hours, let us hold fast to this truth, knowing that God's mercy is our lifeline, our hope, and our salvation.

God bless you.
