Sanctify yourself and be Holy

Leviticus  20:7 Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God.  20:8 And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the LORD which sanctify you.

Sanctification is the process of becoming holy, set apart for God's purposes, and growing in Christlikeness. It is not a one-time event but a journey of continual transformation. Just as a jeweler meticulously polishes a diamond to reveal its brilliance, God uses His Word to refine and purify us.

In a world filled with distractions and temptations, the Lord's call to holiness stands as a beacon, guiding us towards a life of righteousness and spiritual fulfillment. To sanctify ourselves is not just the physical purification of our body  but a profound internal transformation, aligning our hearts and minds with the will of God.

As we reflect on these verses, let us explore three key aspects of sanctification:

1. Consecration of the Heart:
The process of sanctification begins within, in the depths of our hearts. It involves surrendering our desires, fears, and ambitions to the Almighty. By allowing God's love to permeate our hearts, we consecrate ourselves and create a sacred dwelling place for His presence.

2. Living in Accordance with God's Decrees:
Leviticus emphasizes the importance of following God's decrees. Our sanctification is an ongoing journey of aligning our actions with the divine principles outlined in Scripture. Fleeing from sin and resisting the devil in all it's appearances and heeding to God's instructions per time and season ans also seeking guidance from the Word of God, meditating  on His teachings, and ensuring  to live in accordance with His commandments.

3. Recognizing God as the Source of Holiness:
The passage reminds us that it is the Lord who makes us holy. Our efforts towards sanctification are not in isolation but in partnership with the transformative power of God's grace. In acknowledging God as the source of our holiness, we cultivate humility and dependency on Him.

As we strive for sanctification, let us remember that holiness is not a destination but a continuous journey. It is a journey marked by repentance, prayer, and a steadfast commitment to walk in the footsteps of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

In conclusion, by  consecrating ourselves to the Lord, embracing holiness, and allowing His transformative love to shape our lives proves we fulfill our purpose as a chosen and holy people, reflecting the glory of God to a world in need of His light. May we always acknowledge this and work accordingly. Amen.

God bless you.
