Resist the devil
James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
The devil is our one and only sworn enemy from the begining, and he is always furious about anyone whose loyalty is with God.
He comes with several temptations to lure God's own children to sin in other to take them captives in oppression and eventually the second death.
He came like a serpent to Eve and deceived her into eating the forbidden fruit God had instructed then not to eat. By this, the whole human race was thrown into the pit of sin. Thankfully to Jesus Christ who gave up himself for the salvation of mankind.
Nevertheless, the devil does not rest going day by day to deceive many, 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
We are then encouraged to resit the devil in any of his appearances so we do not dall into the pit of sin and eventually the second death.
To resist the devil is not merely an external struggle but a spiritual war of faith. It requires a conscious decision to align ourselves with the teachings of God, rejecting the allure of sinful desires. By steadfastly adhering to God's principles, we create a shield against the devil's advances.
Drawing near to God is the key to this resistance. It involves cultivating a deep and intimate relationship with our Creator through prayer, worship, and the study of His word. As we draw near to God, His strength becomes our strength, providing us with the fortitude needed to withstand the devil's schemes.
Resisting the devil is an ongoing process, requiring vigilance and dedication. It's about choosing righteousness over sin, faith over doubt, and love over hatred. By doing so, we not only protect ourselves but also contribute to the broader spiritual battle for goodness and light.
In conclusion, no one can resist the devil and his temptation with a canal mind or a heart far away from God. Having intimate relationship with God guarantees total victory. As we draw near to God, let His presence empower us to overcome the challenges we face, knowing that through our resistance, the devil will flee, and we will find solace and strength in the arms of our Heavenly Father. Amen.
God bless you.
