He that keepeth Isreal

Psalms  121:4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.  121:5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.  121:6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.  121:7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.  121:8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

As believers, we may find ourselves in a situation of fear, and turmoil where it's  easy to succumb to the pressures of life and to feel overwhelmed by the challenges that surround us. Yet, in the midst of the storm, we find refuge in the promise that God is our keeper, our protector, and our ever-present help in times of trouble.

The term "Israel" not only refers to the ancient nation chosen by God but also symbolizes His chosen people, those who walk in faith and obedience before Him. As believers, we are part of this spiritual Israel, and thus, we can claim the promise of divine protection as our own.

What does it mean for God to be our keeper? It means that His watchful eye is ever upon us, guiding our steps, shielding us from harm, and preserving us in His love. It means that even when the shadows of doubt and despair loom large, we can trust in His unfailing care.

The psalmist declares, "The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand" (Psalm 121:5). Just as a shade shields us from the scorching heat of the sun, so does the Lord shield us from the fiery trials of life. His presence is our constant comfort, our source of strength, and our refuge in times of trouble.

But let us not misunderstand the promise of divine protection. It does not guarantee a life free from adversity or hardship. Rather, it assures us that in the midst of life's storms, we are not alone. We have a God who walks beside us, who sustains us, and who ultimately works all things together for our good.

The attribute of God being our keeper is manifested in several ways which of the following

1. The Vigilant Keeper: "Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep." What a powerful declaration of the unwavering vigilance of our Lord! In a world where sleep overtakes us, where fatigue weakens our resolve, our God remains steadfast. He never tires, never waivers in His watchfulness over His beloved children.

2. The Personal Protector: "The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand."  The Lord is YOUR keeper. He stands beside you, shielding you from harm, guiding your steps with His loving hand. In the scorching heat of life's trials, He provides shade and refreshment.

3. Protection Day and Night: "The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night." Our God is not bound by time or circumstance. His protection encompasses every moment of our lives. Whether we face the glaring challenges of daylight or the shadows of the darkest night, His grace surrounds us, shielding us from harm.

4. Preservation from Evil: "The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul." In a world fraught with danger and temptation, we find solace in the promise of divine preservation. Though evil may lurk around us, seeking to ensnare and destroy, the Lord is our fortress, preserving not only our bodies but our very souls.

5. Guidance and Assurance: "The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore." Every step we take, every decision we make, is under His watchful gaze. From the moment we step out of our homes to the time we return, His guiding hand leads the way. And this promise extends beyond the bounds of time, into eternity itself.

In conclusion, let us take heart in the truth of Psalm 121. Our God is a loving Father who watches over His children with unwavering devotion. May we find comfort in His presence, strength in His protection, and assurance in His faithfulness, both now and forevermore.

God bless you.
