Remember your creator

Ecclesiastes  12:1 Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

This is a  call for us to reflect on the essence of our existence. It speaks of remembering our Creator not just in times of ease and joy, but especially in the days of our youth. Why the emphasis on youth? Because it's in our youth that we often feel invincible, when the world seems full of possibilities, and when the temptations of this world can be most alluring.

Yet, the Preacher warns us that there will come days of trouble, days when the pleasures of youth fade, and we find ourselves longing for something more meaningful. It's in these moments of disillusionment and despair that the remembrance of our Creator becomes vital.

But what does it mean to remember our Creator? It goes beyond mere acknowledgment of God's existence. It involves recognizing His sovereignty over our lives, acknowledging His goodness and faithfulness, and living in accordance with His will.

Remembering our Creator means seeking His guidance in all aspects of our lives – in our relationships, our work, our decisions, and our ambitions. It means surrendering our desires and aspirations to His perfect plan, trusting that His ways are higher than ours.

It also means living with an eternal perspective. In a world consumed by the pursuit of temporary pleasures and material gain, we are called to fix our eyes on the things that are eternal – on love, on justice, on compassion, on building God's kingdom here on earth.

As we remember our Creator, we are called to live lives of gratitude and humility, recognizing that every breath we take is a gift from Him. We are called to live lives of integrity and righteousness, knowing that we are accountable to the One who created us.

But let us not wait until the days of trouble come to remember our Creator. Let us heed the wisdom of Ecclesiastes and remember Him in the days of our youth, when our hearts are still tender, when our minds are still open, and when our spirits are still receptive to His voice.

In conclusion, let us remember our Creator today and every day of our lives. Let us walk in His ways, seek His face, and trust in His unfailing love. For in Him alone will we find true meaning, purpose, and fulfillment.

God bless you.
