Rewards of harkening to the voice of the Lord

Deuteronomy  15:5 Only if thou carefully hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all these commandments which I command thee this day.  15:6 For the LORD thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee.

In these verses above, the Lord speaks to His people, promising them abundant blessings if they carefully obey His voice and observe His commandments. 

Firstly, the Lord assures us of His faithfulness. As we harken to His voice and walk in His ways, we can trust that He will fulfill His promises. Our God is unwavering in His commitment to those who choose to follow Him, showering them with His grace and mercy.

Secondly, in obedience, we find prosperity. The Lord promises to bless the work of our hands, ensuring that we lack nothing. When we heed His voice, our efforts are guided by divine wisdom, leading to success and abundance in all areas of our lives.

Moreover, the rewards extend beyond the material realm. The Lord promises to establish us as a holy people unto Himself. Through our obedience, we become vessels of His love and instruments of His purpose, shining as beacons of light in a world filled with darkness.

In times of trial and tribulation, the Lord's voice becomes our refuge and strength. Those who harken to Him find solace and courage, knowing that they are held by the mighty hand of their Creator. The storms of life may come, but the obedient heart remains steadfast, anchored in the unwavering love of the Lord.

In conclusion, let us commit ourselves to listen attentively to the voice of the Lord. Let us cultivate a spirit of obedience, trusting in His promises and embracing the rewards that come from walking in His ways.
