Pure in heart
Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
A pure heart is one that is free of grudges, rancor, bitterness, hatred, malice, prejudice, jealousy and so on. He sets aside selfish ambition and genuinely seeks the good of others. This is the heart that shall see God.
A pure heart is filled with Joy, Love, Peace, Long-suffering, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self-Control, and so on. This is a heart that is qualified to inherit the kingdom of God (Gal. 5:21b).
There are so many things devil has introduced into the world which brought corruption to the heart of men. This makes it difficult for many to have the presence of God resides withing them.
Instead of love, hatred has taken place, instead of edifying words, gossips has taken over, instead of peace, violence has find its place, many who are expected to enforce justice are the ones guilty of the same sin, where humbleness should have played its role, pride and ego are seeing on display. Such heart can never see God.
Our outward display of "righteousness, holiness, kindness and godliness" cannot deceive God, our heart is what He looks at before justifying, and qualifying us before him.
Are you pure in heart?, are your show of love towards another not an hypocritical display?, even if man is deceived by your character, God can never be deceived. Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Make your heart right with God, so at the end, you can see him face to face.
God bless you.
