Pride will destroy you
Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Pride is the feeling of deep pleasure or satisfaction as a result of one's own achievements, qualities, or possessions or those of someone with whom one is closely associated. having or showing a high or excessively high opinion of oneself or one's importance.
pride is putting oneself in the place of God. it is a refusal to depend on God, but to instead depend on oneself and try to be self-sufficient. it is well also a refusal to give him the glory he is due, but to instead seek the glory for oneself
It is seeing oneself better than the other, having more quality than anyone else and seeks to be honoured more than anyone
The spirit of pride is dangerous to any soul it possessed, it raised the ego and makes such person boastful.
Pride, on the surface seems to be harmless and “victim-less”, but it is an abomination before God, and the reason is that it dethrones God in a person's heart. Psalm 10: 4 says, “In his pride the wicked man does not seek Him (God). In all his thoughts there is no room for God.”
The most important person in a proud person's life is himself. He is the center of his existence. He is his own little god. In Acts 12 King Herod began persecuting the Twelve Apostles in Jerusalem and killed James. God did not strike him down for this. But later when he wore his kingly robes and delivered a speech the people shouted, “This is the voice of a god, not a man.” Because he relished in this and did not give praise to God, God sent an angel to give him a disease that created worms that ate him on the inside until he died.
Pride is disgraceful and an evidence of evil, it makes one become an enemy of God and the prayer of a proud person is an abomination to Him
Stop being proud, be humble and acknowledge God in all you do, else, destruction is on the way. Proverbs 16:18 Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.
