Those that trust in chariot
Isaiah 31:1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!
Judah sought to procure horses and chariots from Egypt in order to fight against the Assyrians but trusting in the inventions of man in order to fight against the purpose of God would only prove futile.
The leaders of Judah thought they were wise in seeking help from Egypt. But their wisdom would be turned to foolishness by the wisdom of God. What would transpire was that both the Egyptians and Judah would fall in order to manifest the strength of God.
God has been the puller of strength for the children of Israel and Judah for any battle confrontation that comes before them, He has revealed to them on several occasions that they needed to trust only Him and Him alone.
HE proved His power severally by manifesting His wisdom rather than the common reasoning of man, like dividing the red sea for the israelite so they can be saved from the battle of pharaoh coming behind, like pulling dow the wall of Jericho making them to prevail over the city and many more.
It will be foolish for anyone who identifies himself with God, who claimed to have surrendered his whole life to God to still trust human wisdom for his daily life.
In our society today, people are basing their life decisions on human reasoning. People today don’t accept Christ as “the way, the truth, and the life,” because human philosophy says there is no one truth, and that truth is subjective.
People today feel they can reach a state of self-deity because mankind is supposedly evolving. Also, life to some people is all about what we can get for ourselves, no matter who we have to step on. Our country is losing its trust in God because, against Paul’s warning, people are being cheated through the empty philosophy, reasoning, and deception of mankind.
The chariots many trust in today is power, money, influence, education among others, but they knew not that all these can fail them anytime, anyday.
If you’re an individual who’s searching for the meaning of life, then you need to understand that seeking the knowledge of man will leave you empty and spiritually dead; however, seeking the knowledge of God found in Jesus Christ by the guidance of the Holy Spirit will lead to eternal life.
And if we as a society are searching for the most effective way to meet some kind of national crisis and relies heavily on the advice of people, then we could be destroyed or conquered; however, if we seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit, then our God will fight for us and give us the answers we need.
Those who trust in chariot always fail in most of their quest, only God can never fail, if you are looking for unquestionable and ever lasting victory in your life, then Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. (Proverbs 3:5 - 6)
