Bountiful Eye

Proverbs  22:8 He that soweth iniquity shall reap vanity: and the rod of his anger shall fail.  22:9 He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.

A bountiful eye love unconditionally. It is an  eye that is looking for those in need and looking to help. A bountiful eye looking around for ways to be generous and gracious and loving and kind toward others.

An eye that will be able to see and persive things of the future before the future arrives

A person who is "good in the eye" sincerely seeks the good of others; they actively look for ways to help. This proverb directly connects this attitude with actions: we know such a person has a "good eye" because we see them sharing with those that are  less fortunate.

Some look upon the poor or the disadvantaged as targets for abuse (Proverbs 22:16, 22). The person with "a bountiful eye" looks on the poor compassionately and responds with kindness. The word "poor" identifies the feeble, weak, and helpless.

An example of such is the good samaritan in Luke 10 v 25-35, he cared not about the race, colour, language of the oppressed, he rather moves with compassion to help, he did all he could until the oppressed regain strength and have his life life back.

A person with the bountiful eye expresses the character of gaining a good reputation, avoiding danger, setting children on a good path, having a pure living, and becomes  the Lord's watchman in justice and good  judgment.

The question today is, do you have a bountiful eye? Do you see the oppressed, poor, the needy and help or look away? Is your charity and kindness limited by tribe, race, colour or language? Or it is without bound?

God expects us to have a bountiful eye, looking after eachother with love and compassion irrespective of who they are. By this we fulfill the will of God of love.

God bless you.
