The spirit of the Lord

Joel  2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

The spirit of God is the embodiment of His character and manifestation in any realm, both physical and spiritual.

After the creation of earth and heaven, it is revealed that the spirit of God hovers on earth, the man being made from the dust of the ground to be flesh now becomes the carrier of the spirit of God. This differentiate man from all other creatures firstly created, both in wisdom, knowledge, power and understanding. 

At the moment man sinned, part of the manifestation of God's character left man, only a specific people chosen by grace for specific purpose latter possesses it before the appearing of the Lord Jesus Christ, talk of the prophets, samson the powerful, etc. 

The death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ gives everyone partaker of becoming the carrier of God's spirit which works in different dimension. It is evidence on the day of Pentecost with the outpouring of different spiritual gifts. 

Man can do nothing without the spirit of God, especially those who have heaven in view. 

Anyone who wish to live goldy and waiting for the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ must possess the spirit of God, this will make us maintain the godly character among men while still focusing on His kingdom to come. 

The spirit of God also ensures the blessings of God comes to us as at when due, 

Isaiah  44:2 Thus saith the LORD that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.  44:3 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:  44:4 And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses.

The Spirit gives the people who receive it power. Peter had denied Jesus, but then after he was filled with the Spirit, he proclaimed HIs name proudly because he was given power by the Holy Spirit. 

We need the Spirit of God in our mouth to control our words, in our eyes and ears to control what comes into our minds, in our hands and feed to control our actions and do works for God.

After confession and accepting Christ as your Lord and saviour, all you should ever desire should be the spirit of the Lord, the Holy spirit. In it you can have a cordial relationship with God, and maintain your spiritual standard through out your life among men.
