The ancient of days

Daniel  7:9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.  7:10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

"The Ancient of Days" signifies a God who transcends time, a being of infinite wisdom and eternal existence. As we contemplate these verses, we are reminded that our God is not confined by the limitations of human understanding. Instead, He stands as the everlasting source of guidance and stability in a world that constantly changes.

In verse 9, we read about the Ancient of Days taking His seat on a throne. This imagery conveys a sense of authority and sovereignty. God is not a passive observer of the events unfolding in our lives; rather, He is actively reigning over all creation. This should bring us great comfort, knowing that our lives are held in the hands of the One who is both ancient and eternal.

Furthermore, the verses describe a scene where books are opened. This suggests a meticulous account of history and events. The Ancient of Days is not only timeless but intimately aware of every detail of our lives.

Our actions, thoughts, and deeds are recorded before Him. This calls us to a life of accountability and reflection on how we live in alignment with His will.

As we navigate the complexities of life, let us find solace in the Ancient of Days, whose wisdom surpasses our understanding. In times of uncertainty, when the world around us seems to be in chaos, we can trust in the unwavering stability of our God.

His ancient wisdom is a wellspring of guidance, and His eternal nature assures us that He is with us through every season of life.

May we approach each day with reverence for the Ancient of Days, seeking His guidance, and allowing His wisdom to shape our decisions. In doing so, we align ourselves with the timeless purpose of God, recognizing that our lives are part of a grand narrative orchestrated by the One who reigns forever. Amen.

God bless you.
