Circumcised Heart
Deuteronomy 30:6 And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.
God spoke to Abraham and have him a painful task which signifies a renewed covenant. "This is my covenant which you shall keep between me and you and thy seed after you — every male child among you shall be circumcised. (Genesis 17:10)
The biblical explanation for this commandment states quite clearly that the circumcision acts as an outward physical sign of the eternal covenant between God and the Jewish people.
God gave Abraham and his descendants the mark of circumcision as a physical reminder that they were cut out from the world, that is, set apart to serve the one, true Lord (Gen. 17:1–14).
The circumcision of the physical body does not totally transcribe to being righteous before God, on several occasions were the Jews (the circumcised) commit evil before God by worshipping other gods and also acting wickedly among fellow men.
In view of their unrighteous behaviours and wicked acts, God demanded their hearts be circumcised. The heart is the center point of a man's thought and action, if it be circumcised, the whole of man will be renewed in the pattern than pleases God.
This demand required them to recognize that, in addition to bearing the physical mark of covenant membership, they were also under obligation to manifest specific spiritual qualities of commitment and obedience to the Lord's will.
A circumcised heart bears the fruits of righteousness and holiness. The fruit, or result, of righteousness is the outgrowth of righteousness in the heart. A truly righteous person will display certain actions and attitudes that confirm the nature of the heart: honesty, kindness, meekness, goodness, love, etc
A circumcised heart becomes wholly devoted to the will of God in all manner of instructions. A believer who has a circumcised heart will not find it difficult to accept and obey the will of God no matter how difficult it may be.
A circumcised heart will continually live a life above sin. A life that shun evil in all ways, the one that flee from every appearance of sin and devil. Walking diligently in the holiness of God.
Do you have a circumcised heart today?, your public confession of Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal saviour and water baptism are all acts of physical circumcision, but living righteously in the holiness of God according to the character of Christ is the circumcision of the heart.
circumcised heart must love the Lord with the whole of his heart and soul for all the days he would live.
Only a circumcised heart will live eternally with God. Be circumcised
God bless you.
